I have been here twice and Gracie has been my stylist. She is efficient, kind and listens to what I want. I have all the faith in her abilities to accommodate my needs.. I look forward to continuing my hair needs with her.

My daughter and I spontaneously stumbled upon Hair FX. Upon entering the salon, we were warmly greeted by our stylist, Stacey. She treated us both with so much respect and was a blast to be around. I've already scheduled another appointment for my other daughter who is autistic and am actually looking forward to it. 💜 10/10

Desiree did an amazing job, exactly what I asked her to do. It’s hard to find a new stylist when relocating, I took a shot w no suggestions and found mine. They were so kind, I had to cancel twice, they were very understanding.

If i could i would give 6 ⭐! Love this place! Very kind and professional folks work in here. If you are looking for a cozy homelike place to get your hair done, don’t look any further you found it! ♥

I highly recommend this salon as a place to get your hair cut. Emma is my stylist and she's fantastic, she's super conversational, and always does a great job. Its family friendly and I won't go anywhere else to get my hair cut. They are also flexible if you need to move an appointment.

The owner is a great person and takes care of our families hair every time and in a very professional way. She even knows how to handle cutting our 1 year 1 month olds hair when he gets fussy. Thank you for being great hair stylists!

The beauty technician who did my wedding makeup was very detail oriented. She worked hard to find all the right products and answered all the questions my friend had. She even gave us tips for when we did our own makeup that have helped me step up my makeup game ever since. Great staff and great product that lasted even through a wedding ceremony, dinner, and bar-hopping afterwards!

My wife and I have lived in this area for about 2 and a half years. After getting her hair cut done and random places and not liking it she had the worse one of her life a few weeks ago.. we went to Hair FX to get it fixed and the look for a good hair salon is over. Anita was wonderful to fix her hair and explain what she was doing as well as why she was doing it. Not only did she earn my wife's hair business she also earned mine and anyone else I can tell about it. Would give more stars if I could.

I was so impressed with my first visit for a just a TRIM, I went back for an actual haircut. I don't care if I never go to another salon ever again. I highly recommend Hair Fx, and will continue to be a customer. (THANK YOU FOR FIXING MY HAIR!)

We are new to Altoona and I hadn't had a haircut for at least six weeks. I was beginning to look quite shaggy (by my standards). There is always some trepidation about going somewhere and entrusting your hair in the hands of a stranger. This was my first visit to Hair FX and it won't be the last.

I was scheduled with Desiree and I think I hit the jackpot. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and told her that I wanted a "knuckle cut", something she was very familiar with. It showed. Best first haircut I've ever had, exactly what I wanted!

The story doesn't stop there. Desiree also cut my wife's hair. She was also a bit anxious about what would happen, but by the time Desiree finished, my wife's hair looked fantastic! Shorter than what she is used to but perfectly cut to fit her face.

We both appreciated Desiree's friendliness and easy conversation. She was not afraid to share with us and made us feel like this was the 100th time we were there and not the first.

So for us it was an easy call: we will be seeing Desiree again.

My wife and I have been going to Anita for a few years now after a horrible experience somewhere else. Anita is very professional and knows what she is doing both for the hair cut my wife likes and for the eyebrow waxing. Not only does she know how to do her hair but also how to fix it from the horrible cut before we found Anita. 10 out of 10 would recommend her to ANYONE i know.

I love this place. I get my hair cut and colored by the owner. Fantastic. I live in Altoona, but vacation in Scottsdale, Arizona and Steamboat Springs Colorado. Everywhere I go I get compliments on my hair. I have to smile because I know I paid a fraction of the cost for my great color and cut compared to what they pay in those areas! I have total faith in these people. I wore my hair long for most of my life. When I decided to go short, I knew Hair F/X was the place to go for a big change. I now love my short hair! The style is perfect for me, and again, I get tons of compliments. I now make my appointments well in advance, but if something comes up and I have to change my time or date; everyone works hard to accommodate me. I really appreciate that too. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Highly recommend it.

I've been getting my hair cut here for 5 years. All of the stylists, aestheticians, and staff are friendly, professional, and talented. Desiree is the stylist I started with and will forever go to. She is so thorough and precise, and I always walk out of their feeling like a bada$$.

My family convinced me to give this place a try and while I've only gone twice, both times have been insanely focused on detail and I'm ACTUALLY satisfied with how they cut my hair. Which is a huge deal because I'm rarely satisfied. But absolutely give this place a try, they're amazing.

Tess was my hairdresser and she made me feel comfortable and she was so professional . Talked me through the whole process and I already have my 6 week appointment scheduled ! Thank you !!

This is the best salon in Altoona hands down! They make you feel right at home and are always upfront and honest about pricing, what they can or cannot do during your appt, and have the most friendly stylists! I couldn’t rave enough about this salon.

I walked in with no appointment and was still able to get my hair shampoo dry and cut with in 10 min. Also cut to my satisfaction and advice to help with my fly aways and how to prevent them. Awesome.

Kendra seems like she has a lot of knowledge, which was great because I have no clue when it comes to hair.
