The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

Excellent family centered church. The people are very welcoming, and you can tell they are serious about their beliefs. They meet for two hours every Sunday, with a Sacrament service followed by Sunday school. There is also a basketball gym and there are pickup games most Thursday nights. They have youth activities on Wednesdays nights.

I lived in Ankeny for 17 years and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Ankeny. From the moment we moved to Iowa, I always felt loved and welcome in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There were so many opportunities to serve and to be served.

Now that I am living in another state, I think fondly of the many friends that I had there. There are so many who touched my heart in so many ways.

We always had great and caring Sisters in leadership capacities, and wonderful Bishops, Counselors, Elders, Priests, and Teachers. I always enjoyed that the lay members of the congregations were always involved in presenting the church services, even the youth and the young children.

It was a great place for my family and me to grow in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

(Jesus Christ based teachings) I moved in from out of state and in short felt like family! There are so many great people striving to be better, it motivates me to want to be better. I always leave feeling better than when I came.

In general, services are about an hour long. One has hymns played on organ with congregation singing, sermons, and pews. The other hour breaks up into classes based on age (nursery for young kids).

This is a global, Christ-centered church with a local presence. The church is the same throughout the world and always feels like family. Wonderful programs for children and youth, numerous opportunities to give and receive service, excellent resources for studying the gospel of Jesus Christ, and so much more.

This church has given me such a welcoming community, and every time I attend I feel uplifted and closer to God and His gospel. Especially since moving from Idaho with no family or friends, we came here and were accepted and loved by such good people, I’m so thankful for this church and I know the gospel taught here is true!

The church services are at 9:00 & 11:00 in Ankeny. We moved from Arizona a year ago and have enjoyed getting to know the congregation members. We have four little boys we bring to church here because this church has an excellent primary program for kids and teen youth programs. In primary, my kids learn to sing the cutest songs like “I’m trying to be like Jesus” or “I am a child of a God.”

I have been a member of a local congregation here for about 3 years now. Coming to church feels like family. Jesus Christ is our Savior, the Son of God, and here we learn how to apply his teachings in our lives. I see Christianity in action and people loving each other even while holding differing political/ other affiliations because we aspire to have our identity as children of God be the most important influence in our lives. We aren’t perfect, but we don’t have to be, this is a place of healing. I love how everything here is volunteered based. No one here is paid to speak. Each week you have the opportunity to hear from a different member of the congregation. It is wonderful to hear people from so many different backgrounds testify of Jesus Christ and His gospel. I know Jesus Christ knows us individually. He understands our pains and our sorrow, He has felt them. He also knows our times of happiness and joy and can help us understand how to share that with others. Amazing place to be and participate as individuals or families searching for purpose and peace in life with a Jesus Christ centered gospel, service and classes.
Great and updated facility, parking lot and gymnasium for events and sports. Not paid staff or leadership, all contributions return to the members, activities, missions, facility and community services. We love the feeling of having a church family that we can count with when we need. There is a Facebook page called "Friends of Ankeny Ward" where all events are posted.

Our first Sunday here we were warmly welcomed into the congregation--it felt like family. This church teaches the importance of love and family, and then its members act that way. It is a place to feel God's love and draw closer to Him.

This was the first church we went to when we moved to the area from out of state. I was totally shocked at how welcoming and loving the congregation was! We've only been here a few months and we have so many friends and a whole new support system. Service every Sunday is always uplifting and relatable, I absolutely love this church and can't recommend it enough!!

Have been attending this church building for 20 years. Many of the faces have changed as people move in and move out but the Spirit of the Lord has always been abundant. The church has worldwide organizational strength but is still able to provide the feeling of a small, welcoming, and close knit congregation of believers. It’s like being amongst family!

Wonderful family centered church! Sunday worship is always uplifting and enjoyable. There are activities for everyone-great children and youth programs. My kids have especially enjoyed learning about Christ through music each Sunday.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is filled with saints (Nelson Mandela defined saints as "sinners who keep on trying") who are focused on drawing closer to Jesus Christ and following Him. It is home centered and church supported. Here in Ankeny, as with most congregations of the church, the people are friendly and inviting and helpful. Sunday meetings always leave you feeling closer to Christ.

My favorite place to spend a Sunday morning in Ankeny. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, and there are great programs for children and teenagers, as well as adults. I especially love their music. You should give this congregation a try if you have never visited before!

We moved to this area about 2 years ago and started going to this church. It has been a great experience. Everything taught is centered on Christ and the congregation is very welcoming. Highly would recommend if looking for a
church.

Warm and welcoming. Nothing weird or unchristian. Simple service with sacrament being pasted. No paid ministry, so speakers are from the congregation. You may wear a mask, if you choose. Very traditional service, no band or rock music.

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love its gospel and am so grateful to be a member of this church. It blesses my life. All are welcome. All who embrace its truths will be blessed even through the trials of life. It is a place of peace, friendship and hope.
