Leaning Tower of Pizza - Uptown Ankeny

We can't recommend Leaning Tower of Pizza enough. We asked them to cater our wedding rehearsal dinner and they delivered SO many pizzas hot and fresh and all of our guests loved them all! They typically only deliver for large catering orders like our rehearsal dinner but we asked if there was any chance they would deliver the next day as well so we could have a "pizza cutting" instead of a cake cutting at our wedding reception. They waived their catering minimum since we ordered so many the night before and delivered one small cheese pizza for us to have ready as we entered our reception. AND they gave us a wedding card and a gift! We asked them for a favor to make our wedding special and they went above and beyond.

I had a great time here with my relatives. The service was fast enough that you didn’t ever feel like you were waiting too long. We ordered two pizzas, and both were great in their own ways. Nothing super special about them, but the flavor was amazing.

Food was outstanding! The best part was our server. Young man basically by himself and was busy as heck. He didn't miss a beat. The garlic bites are amazing! The pizza was hot and delicious. Will definitely go there again.

My friend & I stopped here after riding the High Trestle Trail from Woodward to Ankeny, and I'm glad we veered off to find this place. The pizza was phenomenally good with a delicious thin crust and toppings that were PILED on top. We split a specialty pizza consisting of one size "The Works" and the other size "Chicken Bacon...". The indoor dining area was pleasant, and the service was good. I would definitely stop here again. Also, there is a bike rack for locking up your bike in the back of the restaurant.

The pizzas are consistently delicious! Fresh made with the best tasting ingredients. I like the spicy pizza sauce, however regular sauce is preferred by the less adventurous in our house. So we get one of each and everyone enjoys Leaning Tower!

First time here. The waitress was excellent. The pizza is crispy, plentiful with toppings and the exact amount if cheese. We will be back!

Leaning Tower is an Ankeny stable. If you’re new to Ankeny or just visiting, I recommend stopping here for a pizza. I ordered the Pickle Wrap pizza and Harrington pizza as well as a basket of fries. The fries were on the table within 10 minutes of ordering and the pizzas were out 10-15 minutes after that. If your a pickle fan, I highly encourage you to get the Pickle Wrap pizza. Overall great service, fantastic food, and the waitress was very friendly.

Visiting the Des Moines area from Kansas City and found this little local diamond in downtown Ankeny. The service is something unmatched by any other restaurant I have ever been in. We had two spills and before we could say anything someone was there with towels and getting us new drinks. Every staff person was working quickly and efficiently. The servers helped each other out so every customer’s needs were taken care of immediately.

The food is delicious! We tried the cini minis and wow! They are the most delicious little cinnamon crisp you’ve ever had. They are so light that you’ve eaten all of them without thinking.

We had a catering order today. It went extremely smooth from ordering to delivery. Everyone was raving about how good it was. Personally I really enjoyed the Pickle Wrap Pizza! Thank you for helping our event be successful.

Great server. Kitchen made my pizza wrong offered to remake it and give it to me for free. Just ate what they brought and he still gave it free. Awesome job. Will be back!

We have been looking for a place that matches a local place we grew up with that has incredible Taco Pizza......we haven't found it, UNTIL NOW!!!!! Love the local feel and vibe of the place! We will be coming back for a long time. The service was great and food is better than ome could ask for! Pricing is great as well, even on the specialty pizzas. Great job!

Best pizza in town and excellent service every single time! Try the Howiowan, amazing!! It gets a little warm in the dining room even in the winter, so dress accordingly :)

Visited the Leaning Tower of Pizza located at Uptown Ankeny during a Farmer's Market being held just a few blocks away. I mention this, because if you choose to visit this fine restaurant on a Saturday during the Spring / Summer, be prepared, as all dining establishments can be rather crowded. We were fortunate to walk in and be seated immediately. We knew what we were going to get, so as soon as the waitress arrived, were ordered the "Leaner" specialty pizza (medium) and half order of onion rings. I'm including a pic of the pizza, but forgot to take a pic of the rings, which were spectacular. Make no mistake, these are genuine rings. You'll love them. As for the pizza, I always try to find something special I like about an entree that just about any restaurant in the city can make. Over the years of visiting Leaning Tower, I've discovered it's THE BEST DAMN SAUCE AROUND. No kidding ... that's what sets it aside from other thin crust pizzas. So, give Leaning Tower at Uptown a visit, and try the rings and pizza.

Delicious local pizza place. Surprisingly good pizza for this little hole in the wall. Got the bread bites - bread drowned in garlic and butter and deliciousness. Our waitress was super attentive and kind, the food came out in a totally reasonable amount of time. Super good.

Don't let the small storefront detour you. This is an excellent pizza restaurant! This is our first visit & we will definitely be back. It is clean, with friendly service & we couldn't stop eating our food till it was gone. We recommend the Harrington.

Just moved to Ankeny so this was our first visit. Think we found our new Pizza Place. Great service too.

Excellent service. The pizzas had crisp thin crust loaded with toppings. It was perfection. A salad with house dressing is a must.

Staff was helpful and friendly. I ordered bread bites, corn nuggets, and a specialty Buffalo chicken pizza.

The bread bites were good, but some were cut a little large and difficult to eat. The corn nuggets combined with the house-made sauce were excellent, definitely my favorite thing I ate. The pizza was good. The ranch sauce used was homemade and tasted great. The balance of toppings and cheese was well done. My only complaint with the pizza is that the chicken looked and tasted like it was from a can. Fresh/homemade chicken would have improved the pizza I ordered a lot. I plan to go back and try some other pizza options.

Small but nice pizza place. My grandson says it's the BEST pizza he's ever had!
