Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

Our server, Madison, was attentive and very friendly. She took our order and the meal came out quickly thereafter. The food was prepared properly and tasted delicious. This restaurant is spacious and clean. Great place to visit.

My family and I stopped in this weekend for a quick breakfast. Not only was the food delicious and the space clean, but our server Jeanette was fantastic! She was friendly, welcoming and made us smile. I would highly recommend that you stop in and ask for Jeanette! Thanks!

We had a very nice breakfast this morning. Our waitress, Mel, was very pleasant, friendly, and very professional. Mel made our experience so enjoyable. Food came out very hot and was delicious. We would definitely go back.

After stopping for the night I was lucky enough to have a decent restaurant next door to the hotel I was staying.

Eliya M. greeted me at the door and lead me to my seating.
She later returned, as it turned out she was also going to be my server.

Throughout the entire process of taking the drink and food order, checking on me to insure everything was OK she did it with a smile on her face. Yes that may have been her job but that’s what great customer service is all about.

If I was a local, I would ask to be seated in her area. Excellent job Eliya M.

Mike Lucero is a rock star at the Ankeny Perkins. He always takes care of our Wednesday coffee group. He is professional, kind and very polite. Please tell Mike thanks from our group!

We always enjoy Mike’s company because he is so accommodating to our group. Always making sure our orders are correct and served with a genuine smile. He is our reason for us meeting weekly at Perkins.

Update 4/10/24, Another Wednesday coffee crew meeting and Mike is our server. This group always looks forward to meeting at Perkins for our weekly hoorah. This group consists of retired educators who keep the conversations spirited. Mike brings a sense of welcomeness and hospitality.

My husband and I had the pleasure to be served by Jeanette. Jeanette was polite, professional, and attentive. She didn't hover over us and she didn't make us feel left alone. Our food was perfectly prepared by the kitchen staff. The restaurant is always clean.

Perkins is a perfect old person restaurant (in my opinion) that’s why I’m here. However, not a “for old people” only restaurant. I like there wide variety of items, not to mention the bakery selection is the greatest!

The problem I have today is I eat too big at lunch , I might only have coffee, but my wife will eat and we invited my son and his wife, they will make up for what I don’t eat!

Clean store and restrooms, which is a must to get any stars from me.

Misuk T was our server. She was great! We left to go the bathroom and when we returned, our table had been cleared. She apologized and right away got us our drinks again. Thank you Misuk. A four star for our food because my toast was quite dark.

Mike is excellent and takes so good care of us for many years. We so appreciate him😊

Jeannette is a wonderful server! My parents and I stopped in over the weekend and really enjoyed the food and service. Will be asking for her again :)

Eliya was our waitress. Ricardo and Jose were the cooks. The entire staff was amazing! The best service and food we have ever had at Perkins.

My son and I come here every week and we he asks for Eliya M. She does amazing! We love having here. Keep up the good work!!

Mike has always treated us very good. He is on top of drinks are filled. Always has friendly smile. If something isn't right he is on top of it. Sometimes its the service rates when coming back.

OMG! Loved Jeanette! She’s professional, got us our food quickly and came back to check on us. She was pleasant and seemed to really like serving us.

We come here almost every Sunday morning for breakfast because the food is good, but the service is excellent! Misuk genuinely cares not only about your order, but about you as a person which is a rare commodity these days.

I have to say Perkins is one of my favorite restaurants. The food, service, atmosphere and desserts are just the best. The best part is their times!
