District 36 Wine Bar & Grille

We were even planning on eating here but we are very happy that the other place didn’t work out! Both of our meals were VERY good. You can tell that they care about what they make.

Their Smoked Chicken And Jalapeno Pasta is phenomenal! Service was attentive and swift....my kids liked their dishes and the wife was totally happy. Thumbs up all the way. 😊👍

Came here after a rough day for some comfort food. Got their chicken and jalapeño pasta. The portion size was enormous!! I was very hungry but couldn’t finish it. I also ordered blueberry crisp à la mode for dessert and it was divine!!!

Friday night dinner with a party of 4. Ordered the calamari and the chicken egg rolls for appetizers with some signature cocktails to wash it down. The prime rib, New York Strip Debergo and the Hawaiian Ribeye were the entrees of choice. Everything was amazing, and our server Alexis was great. She was spot on with her recommendations and her attentiveness was exceptional! We will definitely be back. It was very confusing to see some of the low ratings on other reviews. It was far different from our experience.

We went there for New Year's Eve. Our steaks were very good. Our server Ella was very good. When you want to treat yourself to a good dinner, I recommend District 36.

This was our first time here & it was absolutely fantastic! The food was incredible! I got Italian stuffed beef tenderloins with garlic mashed potatoes & a lobster bisque. My wife got chicken parmesan with spaghetti & a side salad that had a delicious creamy parmesan dressing. We both loved our food! The atmosphere is very trendy yet casual inside & they have a lot of different seating area to accommodate a crowd. We had a short 15 minute wait at 7pm on a Saturday night to get a table & it was packed inside so other people must think it's pretty good too.

Great place, will be coming back. Stopped in for drinks and appetizers with friends, and had a good experience, food and service are top notch.

Outrageously good prime rib and I don't normally order prime rib. Whatever your favorite cut of meat is, you will not be disappointed with this restaurant! Love the dark atmosphere, too.

Wonderful wine and dinner menu, great service (bartender was very knowledgeable about wines and pairings), fantastic patio dining, and great atmosphere for a laid back meal. Restaurant was clean and comfortable with pleasant decor. Our waitress was able to recommend some excellent selections. Host staff greeted and seated us quickly, and our appetizers, food and drinks were delivered in an appropriate amount of time. The food was fantastic! Very excited to return and sample something else from the menu. Perfect place for romantic dinners, celebrations or entertaining for business.

Menu offerings were extensive -both drinks and food. Our meals and drinks were delicious! We will be back many times to try other things.

From the moment we walked in the door until we left, we had an awesome experience. Our waitress was very attentive and she was very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the wine list. She recommended a sweet red wine that paired well with the pasta dish. The egg rolls were delicious, the pasta was delicious and the key lime pie was good also, even though it was not the real key lime. We really enjoyed our experience of eating out on the balcony. When visiting Iowa again, we will definitely be back.

Treated myself to some drink & food. Been wanting to try the pollo farfalle & i was not let down! Got the chicken blackened. I couldn't stop eating it! The waitress was attentive but not annoying. Genuinely pleasant. This is my "treat myself" spot, usually after the gym which is probably counter intuitive. Enjoy!

We had a most memorable dining experience, not just due to the fabulous food, but also fabulous service in an appealing setting.

Excellent spot for a nicer dinner in Ankeny. I have yet to have anything there that wasn’t really good. One of the better wine menus that I’ve seen in Iowa.

Great meeting place for the Bull Moose Club. The staff and service was excellent. Kathy Barnette enjoyed her visit there.

We had Jennifer P as our server. She did amazing on her recommendations to us as it was our first time there. She recommended the District Salmon and Jerk Chicken. These entrees are perfectly seasoned and were extremely delicious. We also got the deep fried mozzarella and chocolate cake. Everything from start to finish was a perfect dinner for our 5th anniversary. Thank you very much!

I prefer my salad greens smaller. It had to be cut alot. The shrimp soup was good for a change.

District 36 is the best Saturday brunch in town - I am obsessed and hope you have the pleasure of having Rylee take care of you too!
