Melissa VanPelt helped me open up my business account at Bank Iowa. I have never had such a great experience at a bank. She was very knowledgeable and made you feel like you were the most important client of theirs.

If you're looking for a bank that operates like it's the 20th century, and don't like having access to your own money, this is your bank!
I have never had a more horrible experience with ANY business, let alone a bank. For all of the deficiencies in their availability, mobile banking, customer service, and even the basic knowledge of their own operations, one would think that having access to your money would be a given.
While having a Business Checking account with them, my transactions were declined more often than not for the reason of a "Daily spending Limit" imposed by the bank. After multiple requests to remove the limit, as it's a debit account, not a credit account, I was emphatically DENIED! My limit would REMAIN at $2500 per day unless I contacted them when making the purchase. Can I contact them after hours? NO! The final straw was when it happened at night making an online purchase and was denied. When I contacted Jenni (Branch Manager) the next morning and complained, her response was to ask me, and I'm not joking or exaggerating, "Well, was it something that could have waited until we're open to get authorization?"
After explaining how unacceptable this is, she informed me that this was the way with ALL banks. Now, this was either a bold faced LIE, or just her everyday incompetence, as I only had to make one call to the next bank (of the west) to be informed they never heard of that, and the only limit on a business checking account would be the available balance.
When confronted with this information, she used a play on words to then accuse me of accusing HER personally of causing the problem. Then, cut me off completely with, "Andrew, I will close both accounts and have checks waiting for you 'in the drive-up'." and hung up on me. When I logged into my online banking, it was locked out with a message to contact the bank. I don't even have access to past statements or transactions, as I STILL do after leaving Wells to try a "smaller" bank. I didn't know they got THIS small. No mobile deposits, not even ATM deposits. So....if you like your money, not this bank. If you like to make spontaneous purchases, not this bank. Go on vacation without permission? NOPE! Shop online? NOPE! But, I keep a minimum $25K in my account, I'll be fine. NOPE! Not without calling first. After hours? TOO BAD! Cant need it too bad if it can't be purchased when the BANK is open.
HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING experience. Thankfully it was a trial for them and I'm smart enough to diversify. I don't do a lot of reviews, but when the service, at a business who's only product is SERVICING YOUR MONEY, refuses to allow you access to YOUR MONEY, people should be warned.

Would not help out with getting change. Not putting customers first.
