Rotary Riverwalk Park

Rotary Riverwalk Park was really enjoyable to walk around during the day and the evening time. There is limited parking on the west side during a weekend night but pretty open during the day on Sunday. During the day, we walked over the huge Bobber statue, walked down near the dam of the river where this is a walking area. We walked the bridge both during the day and night and really enjoyed it. The bridge itself is the Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge which was really cool to learn about. At night we checked out the Robert D Ray Asian Garden (parked on the street) and were able to enjoy that and the view of the river. Overall, this is a really enjoyable area to come check out. It is free and worth your time to see!

This is a beautiful, modern park with walking trails, swings, a skate park, fishing pier, and a stunning pedestrian bridge across the Des Moines River. The bridge crosses over to the Asian Garden, which is definitely also worth a visit. I did not notice any bathrooms but I also did not explore much by the skate park itself, so there may be some farther down from the bridge.

Very nice riverfront park, enjoyed watching the skaters, swinging on the swing set people watching. The walk over the bridge was really cool, especially seeing the women achievement plaques at the midpoint. Very scenic. Also liked the Chinese square, there was a trail cutting through there. Unfortunately started raining and we had to cut our walk short but still enjoyed the area.

A fairly recent artsy installation on the western bank of the Des Moines River in downtown Des Moines, right next to the western entrance to the iconic Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge. When it first opened, there were a few more swings installed on the fishing pole, but when I visited this time, there was only one lonely swing left. The park is nicely lit at night and adds a more "fun" element to the river front space in downtown.

Probably the nicest walk you can have in Des Moines. You can park your car across the bridge and walk on over it and make your way to this park. Here you can walk around it and see different architectural buildings and also different landscaping that's unique in this part of the country. There's also a biking/running trail alongside the river.

We came down from MN straight to here to watch the sunrise and then to KC, KS. It was absolutely beautiful! (:

The park itself is quite small, so don't expect too much in terms of play structures or running area. What do you get are some stunning views and things to explore that are completely unique to Des Moines. Rotary Riverwalk Park is basically a giant sculpture with swings, and it's located on the western side of the Iowa Women of Achievement Bridge (a pedestrian bridge). You can walk over the river, and on the other said is the Robert D Ray Asian Gardens with a pagoda. Taken together, this free scenic stop is definitely worth your time in downtown Des Moines.

Not only is this place beautiful, it's clean, has gorgeous views of the Dr's Moines skyline, and a wonderful mix of city and nature all in one. It's kid friendly and handicap accessible as well.

Nice place to clear your mind and get a great view of the river and skate park. Love the pagoda garden near by as well.

Very clean, beautiful views, wildlife and plants are respected, the trail is well kept and easily used by both pedestrians and bicyclists.
