DAV Thrift Store

This is my favorite thrift store!! Very helpful and caring. So dedicated to the veterans and know customers by name. Really enjoy the historical veteran memorial wall with photos and artifacts. Everyone works really diligently to keep the store organized and clean. Thank you for all you do for veterans and the community. You help alot of people.

I LOVE shopping at D.A.V.! It’s always a treasure hunt that never disappoints. Tiffany and the rest of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. They have TONS of clothes, shoes, and accessories available at great prices. I would recommend a visit especially to anyone on a budget.

I’ve gone here since I was a kid. It’s more than just a thrift store, it’s nostalgic for me. I was just in the store yesterday with my kids. Jamie was my cashier. She was super friendly and quick. The store has improved so much over the past few years. I will continue to support the DAV for many more years!

I absolutely love this Thrift Store. The staff are also super helpful and are busy fixing the store and making it nice and neat for all shoppers. A special thank you to Tiffany for her help today. I definitely will be back.

Some of the best thrift prices in town and a large footprint means I never leave here empty handed!

I bring students from high school for a work experience. We work in the back room hanging clothes. The girls who work in the back room are so kind and patient with our students. Chris and Jamie who run the store are so willing to let our students work there and learn new skills. We look forward to going to DAV when it is our day to work.

The staff are very hard working and helpful. The store is always clean and organized. Excellent variety of items. There's always plenty of parking and well lit at night for safety. Its always a new adventure when shopping there. The prices can't be beaten anywhere else in des moines. Which is especially important in this economy with inflation going only higher. For familys with little extra money to spend like mine. The DAV is our first destination to find something needed. We are greatful that there is a store like the DAV available to us. I have friends that feel the same as me and mine.

Always such a great store to shop. Always great items for great prices and I love how it goes to a good cause. Heather and Pam always stick out to me because they are great workers and are always very helpful with questions and are very nice people to talk too.

We love shopping here-love the prices! Our thought is that if you put reasonable prices on things, your sales volume will increase, and that is exactly what they do. Keep doing what you’re doing, DAV!

The cashier's here are very nice. They helped me get someone to load some heavy items into my car. Very polite people and great atmosphere!

Such an amazing place. I especially love seeing employees such as Amber, heather, Michelle, Natasha, Carol, and Pam. They’re always so friendly and keep us coming back!

After doing my homework to donate to charitable organization, felt DAV gets my items.
Sure the others that help in different ways, that DAV does what I feel is beneficial to one in need.
From helping the homeless, assist with resumes, most of all being an US Army veteran, the DAV helps disabled veterans.
For the one that joined voluntarily or not to help keep the world safe and free of oppression.

Such awesome people in the back production room! Always friendly, smiling, and constantly putting fabulous bargains on the store floor. Best people ever!

This is my favorite thrift store in and around Des Moines.

Large variety of items, neatly displayed & reasonably priced. Wish they had furniture- it was the only thing they lacked. Love this store

This thrift store is Truly one really Awesome thrift store. They do have great prices!
(like thrift stores should have)
Not like G***will & other high price thrift stores nowadays gouging $$$$$ from customers. When a thrift store is opened to the public the "purpose is" it's helping people whom can't afford brand new clothing &or misc household items. Some folks just have barely enough monies for their household toiletries, let alone Brand New clothing & or misc items, etc. So to find something that one is in need of, or a Dire need for
whatever, but can't afford to purchase anything brand new. This Store is very fair & has many reasonably priced item's for a unbeatable cost to all of their Customers for whom ever happens to venture into this thrift store. Take a step back in time to second hand store purchases & able to buying items @ a WOW price, When price wasn't such a big issue on used clothing or misc household items & were one could & "still can" get great prices on good deals.
