Chuck's Restaurant

I went last week with my family, we were greeted promptly and seated fast. As a family of 7 that doesn't happen too often.
Our server was so great and made everything so much better.
To top it off the food was AMAZING! Best mozzarella sticks and chicken parm of my life!!! Oh and the breadsticks and the alfredo sauce that cane with it was to die for! (And i have never liked Alfredo) Everything about this place was so good. I will be back and I can't wait to try something new.

The food was great. The service was alright. The room was a bit on the colder side but it was also negative out when we went. Definitely plan to go back.

The lasagna was perfection, lots of cheese, enough for 3 people. The service was very welcoming & friendly even the customers spoke to me. I can't wait to go back.

This was my very first visit to Chuck's restaurant, I've always heard amazing things not only about their cuisine but also their family history which I think is very special! Opened in 1954. I ordered cheese ravioli with shrimp (pictured), and WOW was it amazing & FULL OF FLAVOR!! You can definitely tell everything is homemade, down to their sauces. We got mozzarella sticks & onion rings as appetizers; I was blown away by both! The sticks were bigger than usual, loaded with italian herbs/spices!! BEST I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. The rings were the thin kind, which I LOVE.
The others both ordered a small pizza -one cheese, & one hamburger & onions. I think it's the BEST PIZZA I've ever tasted!! The crust is exceptional! Thin, yet so satisfying! The sauce is yummy, with a teeny hint of spice (my 10 yr old loves it, so don't worry if your kids will! 🙂), & the cheese is phenomenal... My daughter wanted another pizza the next day!!
This is now one of my favorite restaurants! If you love italian this is for you!
They have pizzas, pastas, sandwiches (grinders, etc), some seafood, salads... Many tempting appetizers. The inside was nice, low lighting which made for a relaxing atmosphere. Our waitress was very sweet, as well! Definitely will reccomend to ANY & EVERYONE!! ♡♡♡ 5+++ Stars ALL THE WAY!!

It's an old time favorite of ours. Chucks harked back to a time when Italian family dining was the norm in Des Moines.
Years later, it was updated and still great! Lots of atmosphere and live music Friday and Saturday.
Duck in on a cold or rainy night and indulge in the excellent Italian American cuisine. Chuck and Linda B would be proud of the new owners.

Fantastic food. They have changed their menu some (not for the better in my opinion), but still good. Would highly recommend.

We didn't know we were supposed to have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in since it was just 2 of us and they weren't very packed. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive and the food was outstanding!! I highly recommend the Tullsi and fried Brussel sprouts. Customers for life!😍😍

Chuck’s is a Des Moines Legend. My husband and I loved their happy hour! Dine in or get our pizzas to go- it’s still fabulous! If you haven’t tried it… do it!

On our way through Iowa we stopped to get an infamous tenderloin sandwich and Chuck’s was the place we chose. Walking up, the atmosphere is beautiful and easy-going. We entered and sat in a comfy booth with lots of natural lighting. Our server was attentive, kind, and helpful. The tenderloin sandwich was so crispy and crunchy but not too heavy. Delicious! Pizza was also great with flavorful toppings and a nice thin crust.

We had outstanding service here, the owner is also incredibly kind and generous. If we ever stop through again we will be sure to eat at Chuck’s.

The food was absolutely amazing! Had the fried zucchini, so fresh and delicious! Got free half order of onions rings with a $25 order. They were thin, crispy, delicious onion rings! And best of all, we got the large all meat pizza, best pizza I've had in years!!! Thin, flaky, out of the pizza oven fresh, so good, crust! Perfect amount of toppings. We also tried the beaded mushrooms and fried liver. Mushrooms were fresh and great. the liver was good, in my opinion. The husband didn't like it. Lol(first time having it) Service was fast and friendly! Definitely will be back

I've always driven past this place but never thought I'd ever go in. My boyfriend and I decided to try something new, and since this was right down the street from us, we ended up choosing this place. Best. Food. Ever! I ordered the Bruschetta Burger and was so impressed. My boyfriend ordered wings and spinach ravioli in alfredo sauce. Alfredo sauce is always a hit or miss with me but when I tried some of it from his plate... amazing! These people are so friendly and definitely know how to make food.

The owner is great & personable. Cheese logs are awesome. I always get the a little more done. And the pizza 🍕 is my go to always. Fire 🔥 brick thin crust. They do have a large menu & everything that goes past my table looks great. But I love the pizza.

Love this local restaurant. Staff is always really friendly, the food very good, and they serve large portions

One of the oldest and best fire brick oven pizzas around. Onion rings on point, very friendly staff, tons of seating and even sometimes live entertainment. They also participate in art shows and the Iowa sweetcorn festival. Chuck's is a must!

Our experience here was OUTSTANDING! Charles was our server and he genuinely cared about our experience, our food, our quality, everything! In a word, this place is fantastic! Honestly, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for THE BEST tenderloin OR steak! This place is just down the street from us and it was just the best experience ever for us. If you’re looking for GOOD food with GOOD customer service and GOOD people, look no further. The prices are amazing and unless you’re wondering, don’t worry, their sauce is tasteful and delicious! You really can’t beat it. Best money we’ve spent at a good establishment so far!
