Amazingly Chill Coffee Shop

The barista, Syd, was knowledgeable and courteous while guiding me through my coffee order. The atmosphere felt more naturally mellow than the run of the mill Starbucks.
Best of all the coffee flavors are interesting and new!

I will definitely be returning after Syd's exceptional customer service and coffee recommendations, seasonal and off-the-menu.

Love their coffee and they're always friendly. Been going there for years now 🙂 would be cool if they named a drink after a Beatles song! Unless they already have and I missed it

I love their coffee! Menu is super creative. My favorite is the Stairway To Heaven drink. I used to visit Lawrence, KS as my daughter attended KU and I came upon this establishment by pure luck. I order their coffee beans in bulk now.

This place and company is so wonderful! The atmosphere was so relaxing and comfortable. The staff was so kind. The coffee was made quickly, was a reasonable price and delicious! In addition to our wonderful experience as customers, while I was there I accidentally left my purse with my asthma inhaler there. We live three hours away and dreaded driving back. I contacted them and they were kind enough to mail me my bag to me at no charge saving us the $70 it would be to replace. Great people and customer service like that should be praised and rewarded! Please give them your business! They deserve it and you won’t be disappointed ❤

I love Z’s! I’ve tried many different drinks from them and I am impressed each time. The prices are fair (cheaper than Starbucks!), the line moves efficiently, and their punch card promo is a really good deal. I honestly prefer coming here compared to some of the other big chain coffee companies in town. Have always had such a positive experience coming here!

First time there. Picked up bulk espresso beans and a freebird. Very helpful staff and the drink was good.

Love love love this place! My favorite. Wish they were in Topeka. Try to stop in every time I travel. Ring of Fire - ya!!! Blueberry muffin is worth every penny. Highly recommend.

Speedy service, delicious food, and awesome coffee. Z’s is the fastest and most convenient local coffee that rivals and even surpasses the quality of a huge chain like Starbucks. The drive-thru is always fast and the in-shop space is cozy and an excellent work space. The only negative I have with it, but also with most coffee joints is the closing time. Overall, Z’s is a great overall morning pick for a quick pick-me-up.

Humble local coffee shop with a menu with something for everyone and service that is always courteous that makes it worth seeking this place out. Their house specials are unique, though my wife gets a kick out of making me say "I want a Great Big Muffin Man" on the drive thru speaker.

While they've been at the new location for a while, I am always impressed with the quality of drink you can get here. The bagels are friggin awesome.

One thing that really stood out to me:
They had substitutes for whatever your dieting needs are.

I love studying here. The coffee and baked goods are wonderful. As long as this place remains open and I remain a Lawrence resident, I will continue to go here.
With that being said, there are two things that I think could benefit the Z's Coffee Shop on 31st St.:

1. If they extended their hours later in the evening. I think Z's gets enough traffic on the weekend that it would be intelligent if they closed later, preferably closing around 7pm. Most of the students I know use their weekends studying throughout the day. Since Z's closes so early on the weekends, I usually decide not to study there during those days. I have friends who also agree to this complaint.

2. If they had at least two workers per shift on the weekends. The only reason I'm making this suggestion is because I've seen a couple employees have mini mental break downs near the end of their shifts. I'm not sure if this is from poor management or if this is from them getting overwhelmed when a rush occurs, but I always feel bad to witness the employees stressed. They've always provided great service to me, no matter what time of day I come in.

They make a decent latte. They also give the doggo treats sometimes, which is a bonus.

Coming from Seattle, I am very picky about my coffee. Usually I settle for burnt Starbucks espresso because I prefer that over watery drip from most local joints but Z's Divine completely blew me away. Their coffee actually tastes rich and full-bodied. I think I even read on their website that they use organic beans (amazing!). This is definitely my favorite spot in Lawrence and love that they have a drive thru!

Z's is one of my favorite coffee shops in town. This location is perfect for studying, writing, or getting together with a friend or date.

They made an excellent (and beautiful) latte among many other beverages. Great service. I love this place.

THIS IS THE BEST BAGEL AND COFFEE IN LAWRENCE. When i tell you that the bagels from here will change your life i am not kidding, they are literally so delicious i can’t even describe it in words. the combination of a latte from here with a bagel is the best thing that has ever happened to me. please go here and get a latte and a bagel i am begging you

Best biscuit sandwich I've ever gotten anywhere. Frfr - Delishish. Super convenient drive thru but worth going in too

Not the fastest drive thru but very tasty coffee at decent prices. Their muffins are LEGIT! especially their Thunder muffins (kind of a carrot, raisin combo) and their Cranberry Orange muffins. So delicious!!
