Argana cafe

Argana opened on W 23rd Street earlier in the year, though I did not have a chance to try it before it burned down. The photos and article I read really made me sad I never had a chance to try it.

Fast forward to this week, I read an article in the LJW which advised Argana had moved into the old 'Wake the Dead' spot on E 7th.

Decided to place a take out order and chose the argana meat combo entree which came with soup and a salad. I love baba ghanoush and ordered a side which came with warm pita bread. The food was ready in fifteen minutes and the owner, Yasine, greeted me by name upon arrival. They've got a really nice space, which includes some smaller rooms offering more privacy. Yasine also offered me a chance to try the Moroccan spiced meatballs. They were very nicely seasoned and I look forward to ordering them as an entree next time.

Once I got home, I likely ate way more food than I should have, but everything was delicious. The salad was fresh, soup was nicely seasoned and the meats tender.

I look forward to my next visit to Argana and hope they succeed in this difficult business climate!

I’m obsessed with this food! The complimentary tea while we were waiting for our order was wonderful. The chicken shawarma entree was HUGE and amazing (chicken was slightly dry but flavorful and the sauce it came with was delicious). The hummus is great. The meat trio entree was fantastic. And don’t even get me started on the Baklava. It was delicious and extremely unique! Can’t wait to come back and try more!

I’m a big foodie who’s travelled and tasted cuisines all over the world. Mediterranean being my favorite, I don’t think I’ve tasted better Lamb and Beef gyros. Combine it with the authentic couscous and you’ve got yourself a real Moroccan experience. My son loves their Shawarma and Fries!!! They’ve got something for every age group. The owner is a real nice person.

This place is fantastic!!! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful. It’s bright and breezy while still being romantic and well-decorated. I had the chicken shawarma wrap with the side salad and both were excellent. Just the right amount of spicy! I would give it six stars if I could. Plus it’s right across from the Raven, so you can grab a book to read over lunch.

I have eaten here multiple times now. I have tried their signature are gonna meat platter, the lamb shank, and the Gyro platter. Every single piece of food was amazing, the only adjustments I had to make was to add a little salt to the lentils. The price is reasonable for a Mediterranean café compared with anyone else in town. But the best value on the menu is the argon a meat platter which gives you a generous portion of chicken lamb and beef

I almost never write reviews, but it was the first thing I wanted to do after taking a bite of my shawarma wrap. It was flavorful, fresh, and above all delicious! The decor is bright and welcoming, and the customer service is great both over the phone and in person. This is my new favorite local restaurant.

The lamb shanks special was fall off the bone meat and perfectly spiced. Hot tea was excellent although they claim to mix up the spice mix in it so you might have a different experience. Fresh pita bread, lovely salad and falafels to complement your meal. Lentil soup was yum as well.

I got the beef and lamb gyro and lentil soup. The food came out quickly and was absolutely incredible. The place itself is very beautifully decorated and the staff are very nice. Everything is spaced out and there are private rooms you can go into as well. I 100% recommend eating here.

Amazing and authentic Morroccan food. I had the couscous and that was excellent. My grandma and mom lived in Casablanca and Marrakech for a long time and cooked a lot of food inspired from there. The flavors were something I had been craving since I moved to the united states years ago. PERFECT meat, spices, and couscous grain consistency. My husband had the chicken shawarma which was also really good, a little bit creamy and tender meat.

This place is amazing. The food is phenomenal. Everything that I have tried has tasted extremely fresh and spiced just right. I usually get the chicken or lamb gyros. The shawarma sauce is transcendent. The babaganoush is awesome. The service is excellent. The owner is extremely friendly and genuine.

I ordered the chicken shawarma and loved every bite. The rice and sauce were super flavorful. You get a ton of food for the price. Highly recommend! I can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu.

I just went here for the first time and the food was amazing. I got a chicken Shawarma sandwich and it tasted very fresh and delicious. The staff was super responsive and kind, they gave me a free piece of cake on my way out. The restaurant also felt very clean, I could tell that they just sanitized my table before I sat down.

The food is authentic, the service is great, and you can't beat the price. There are enough choices on the menu to satisfy even your pickiest eater(like my kids). The kids liked the rotisserie chicken and fries and I enjoyed the beef kofta. We will definitely eat here again.

We were delighted to be able to sit in a room to ourselves, and the food and service were outstanding. We got free Moroccan tea to finish our meal! Try the roasted chicken! It's the most economical item on the menu and the spices are perfect.

The gyros are authentic - as good as you can get in Greece! The owner is very nice and gave a complimentary cup of soup while waiting for our food New Year's Eve. We love the pita and the Tsatziki sauce. Any time we are visiting Lawrence we try to stop by.

I went in there because I was waiting on an appointment and I was hungry. The food was fantastic - flavorful and fresh. I was hanging out a bit after I finished my lunch and the person working brought me some hot tea. He was extremely friendly with the people coming in to pick up food as well. I don't often write reviews but I felt the experience with the customer service and the welcoming atmosphere was worth noting.

Argana Cafe has been a go-to for my family during this pandemic. The food is exquisite and authentic Moroccan. They are fast, work around dietary restrictions, and best of all, they are good people. I highly recommend!

Got lunch delivered today and it was delicious! We had the Chicken Shawarma and the Gyro Shawarma, both were great. Initially I was only going eat half...but the sandwich never stood a chance. We will be ordering from Argana again!

If you want to taste the authentic Moroccan cuisine, then this is the place to go. Hands down, the best Moroccan dishes I have ever had. From couscous to tagine to kofta, you feel that they are made by a caring Moroccan mom. Tagine is cooked and served the traditional way in a clay tajine dish, with freshly selected meat, and dried plums and apricots. The couscous I had here is the best I've ever had in the US, and I've tried many.
Nice, clean and well organized, I recommend Argana cafe to everyone who likes to try new dishes and interesting mixes of flavors. Believe me you won't be deceived, and your taste buds will be spoiled :)

Great experience and wonderful food. I had the chicken shawarma wrap and tasted the Tuna Rice salad and the Morocco Taktouka salad, all was great. Would recommend giving this place a try. The staff was so friendly and very helpful.
