Maria's Mexican Restaurant South

Love this place! We've been ordering take out through the pandemic and today we finally made the trek in to the restaurant to dine in. Wife and I had the fajitas (she got chicken and I got a steak and shrimp combo). They came out sizzling and were great! Nothing was over seasoned and you could actually taste the ingredients, which I am a huge fan of. The salsa was different, but after looking at some of the other reviews it seems it's a family recipe, which I think it pretty cool. Also the portion sizes were great, I don't need a mountain of food. 10/10 would stuff face again.

Close to home, it’s nice and quiet, right off Campbell. Love coming here for a quick dinner!

Wow! What a great experience! Thank you SO VERY MUCH to the staff at Maria’s South for a wonderful meal. I contacted the staff to check on reservations to celebrate my sisters 60th birthday. Although they couldn’t take reservations for our party of 10, the staff suggested “a less busy” time for us to arrive so they could work us in during a Saturday afternoon during a long holiday weekend. We arrived and were seated promptly and no wait time. The food was excellent, the service was superb, the entire staff was very kind, friendly and courteous. We thoroughly enjoy our visit. This was my first time going to Maria’s but it will not be my last time. Thank you so very much to everyone at Maria’s South for making my sister’s birthday special.

We couldn't be more happy they opened this up on the south side! We. LOVE their tacos! We had a great lunch with fantastic service and they were just as great as downtown! Give them a try if its new to you. You'll love the fried tacos!

My family tried Maria’s South and we were blown away with the food. The food was amazing and very flavorful and was very filling. We found our new favorite Mexican restaurant….The staff was so amazing and the manager came around and talked to all the other customers.

Our meal was fantastic. Plenty on everyone's plate. My margarita was awesome, mixed just right. Katelyn was our server. Very nice and pleasurable. The new location was awesome.

You can't go wrong with Maria's fried tacos. Whether you want grilled fish, chorizo or any other normal type they have it. They have some of the best chips and salsa around as well. This location is nice and there is usually no wait at lunch times. Staff is always ready to serve. Another great item on their menu is the carne asada nachos. Stacked to perfection. Overall, Maria's is top notch.

Good Mexican food- nice variety and combinations plus al carte. Portions are big well prepared. Good chips and salsa for each table. Maria's have a full bar. Indoor or outdoor dining. All staff wear masks, tables are spaced apart, and when busy you can wait in your car until your table is ready.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise! Prices were reasonable too! Our waitress was great, the hotter of the two sauces offered was soooooo good as well. Wonderfully done!

Surprisingly excellent Tex Mex. Authentic enough that they actually had puffy tacos! The chorizo ones were pretty excellent. The carne asada burrito was not quite as amazing, but knowing now that the restaurant is authentic Tex Mex, I’ll definitely be back to try the chili con carne.

Maria's always takes care to give me the highest quality fresh Mexican at the best price. Do yourself a favor and try some carnitas fried tacos with a house Margarita! You won't be sorry!

We ordered from Grubhub and we’re impressed all the way around. Our food was on time, the order was correct and the food was good. What surprised me was the meals where plated nicely (for to go meal)and all the food was still hot. .

Had the fried tacos and fell in love with them 😍. Begged my wife to go back next day to get another 3 but ran out of time 😢. Sdrvice was ok I think short staffed that afternoon but overall definitely worth the time to go there great food and friendly staff.

Hubby and I just checked this place out and loved it! I had the Fiesta Salad Bowl with steak and it was good! Hubby had the Carne Asada French fries appetizer and loved it! Service was wonderful and atmosphere was very clean.

This is the best, most delicious, and most authentic Mexican restaurant that we have found in Springfield since moving here from Texas. We've had takeout from there several times, and it is consistently fantastic!

We have ordered 2x from grubhub and both times have been amazing. The 2nd time we ordered we forgot to order something. I called and they helped me get it fixed. Great customer service. I don't know who helped me on the phone but thank you so much. THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC ALSO!!!!😁

We had the Fajitas, they were delicious as was the chips & salsa. Very good, fresh food definitely glad we went to Maria's!
