Buunni Coffee - Pinehurst

Buunni Coffee, located on Pinehurst Avenue, is so adorable! I recently came to visit to grab an afternoon coffee and stayed to do some work on my laptop. The staff are really kind & efficient, my vanilla latte came out quickly and tasted delicious! The store patrons I ran into were really nice as well - we all did some shuffling at the one large table they have inside so everyone who came in groups could sit by one another. For a small shop, the place is pretty accommodating for people to be able to work inside while having their coffee + bite to eat.

My only complaint is that it can get a little chilly inside when it's cold out because a rush of icy air busts in each time someone opens the door to enter/exit. Just something to be aware of when you come visit, particularly if you plan to stay & enjoy your coffee. I'm sure during the warmer months, the breeze is welcome. Regardless of this tiny con, this place is 100% worth a visit with all of the pros in mind. :-)

Quickly, on a final note: if the cold air is something you're worried about during the winter months, they also have a little covered patio out front, which I believe is heated! There is a cute book exchange located out front as well. Enjoy!

Our favorite local coffee that has a married couple as the owners. They are those rare people with hearts of gold trying to improve their community. The coffee is phenomenal- the Sidamo is my favorite and even when we moved away, we get it auto delivered from their website.

Clean space, friendly staff. Such a neighborhood gem! When I recently went, they were doing a collab with WordUp Bookstore. Community matters here. Highly rec this coffee shop! Their tea is delicious and they have some vegan and gf treats too

House blend smooth slightly sharp finish and a little bitter. Try something different next time. Small coffee very reasonable $2,50

A neighborhood institution! Locally owned coffee shop that ethically sources beans from small farms. The coffee is excellent, there is also always a great selection of tea. My winter favorite is the chai latte, there are often seasonal special drinks. On site you can also purchase sweet and savory baked goods as well as sandwiches and salads. There are often gluten free options available. A great selection of coffee you can take home, they will also ground the coffee on site if you need. Not a lot of seating inside, but more tables in the outdoor shelter. For a real treat get your coffee to go and enjoy it at Fort Tryon Park!

I had not realized that I had such a good coffee place and close to home, omg now it is my favorite place to buy coffee, it is simply perfect and the attention is friendly And they are attentive to everything you want in your coffee.

Cozy neighborhood coffee shop. They serve clean, well-balanced coffee and a small selection of tasty pastries. Seating is limited to a few barstools and one communal table. Staff are friendly and professional.

The best coffee and the best croissants! Definitely have to get here early on the weekends if you want one of their delicious croissants, they go fast! Not only is the coffee amazing, their baristas are amazing too, always helpful and nice with great coffee bean recommendations.

Amazing local café! All the plastics used are biodegradable and eco-friendly. The barista let us sample different brews before we made our choice and was very meticulous and patient when preparing a custom order (the special of a coconut mocha mixed into an iced oat milk latte). Lovely place, definitely recommended!

The spinach tart is also absolutely delicious, I look forward to returning and trying the other snacks they have to offer.

You're in for a treat. Their beans are fresh, fragrant, and fantastic. There are so many options: for example, you can get the same bean varietal in different roasts.

I 💖 Buunni. Proprietors, Sarina and Elias, live in and care about our community. They are so much more than local successful business owners. They serve wonderful Ethiopian coffee and now fresh delicious Ethiopian food! They host neighborhood events and support local artists. Can't say enough about them and their cafe! Congratulations on earning a Nextdoor "neighborhood fave" award. ☕💪🤩

I had a delicious strong pumpkin latte to go and a delightful chocolate croissant. The folks were quite nice. It's very tiny.

This coffee house never lets you down. Every cup is consistently prepared perfectly. espresso, the happy drink, the cortado, the americano, and deconstruction... Always pleasant service.

You're getting some of the best coffee in the world, not just the city if you go here. The Ethiopian owner personally sources beans from Ethiopia and supervised the roasting process for a result that's hard to match anywhere else. I've been buying the beans as gifts for years, and I've always astonished people from all over with the unmatched quality. It's so well done that you can really start to taste the flavors, notes, and tones of each bag of beans—but you'll be spoiled forever from drinking over roasted, burnt chain coffee!

The espresso drinks they make are just as good. There's a wide and changing selection of delicious sweet and savory pastries that's delivered fresh each morning.

The space is a little small and can fill up, despite the added covered space outdoors that they put up during covid. It's only a testament to how amazing the coffee is here!

Love this little gem. It's a bit small for space, but the coffee and treats are great, and they have a couple benches outside. Love their cappuccino and croissants - really all the treats are delicious. Owner is kind and hospitable. Love the atmosphere here! They do a great job supporting the local neighborhood and bringing people together.
