Gartner's Hardware

Gartner’s is a wonderful hardware store. I brought in ny lamp that suddenly stopped working snd I was lucky enough to have Ba Ba help me. It took a week of his trying to find the correct piece that was missing and he went out of his way to do so. He was wonderful! My lamp now works and am so fortunate to have this store in my neighborhood.

The team at Gardner’s Hardware are well informed and extremely helpful. I have been coming here for years as need dictated, and probably should have written a review long ago. They always seem to have what I need, and take the time to make sure I get the right thing. Today they went above and beyond for us when an unexpected problem arose in the apartment. There is no comparison between what they can offer and what one might get in a big box store. Thank you Gartner’s!

This hardware store had exactly what I needed, and in more sizes than I knew existed. The extensive inventory is mind boggling, and very well organized. There’s no reason to schlep out to Home Depot when Gardner has it.

These guys, especially Baba are amazing. Let me count the ways: my husband attempted to fix a broken lamp and only managed to make it worse. They fixed it and charged me a reasonable price for doing so. I needed an electrician -- they recommended the best electrician on planet earth who I am working with to this day. My air conditioner broke down and they put me in touch with an A/C genius. In the meantime, I bought fans from them -- they carried them to my car. This is what a local business should be. They have anything you need -- hardware, kitchen wares, contacts and advice. Gartners has been around for a long, long time and anybody can see why. I love this place SO much.

Our daughter lives near here. I often try to fix/replace/improve things in her apartment when we visit. This store has an incredibly wide variety of useful parts and devices. The helpful, friendly staff make every visit pleasant and productive. An excellent neighborhood resource.

I just moved to the neighborhood and although this hardware store was really convenient for all my needs, the five stars specifically go to Angel the handyman. He heard I was trying to paint my high ceilings alone, offered to come over to my apartment and take a look on his lunch break and by the next day him and his crew not only painted my ceiling, they finished painting my kitchen, installed light fixtures, caulked all of the baseboards in my entire apartment and fixed things I didn't even notice that needed attention. The following weekend I hired him to help me move all of my belongings from Astoria to the UWS and he and his team finished in less than 3 hours. Angel is awesome, reliable and loyal! He is my go-to for everything now. Next: building my new bed frame and hanging up my wall art! :)

Needed Satco 3715 replacement light bulbs. Bought the wrong ones by mistake. Returned them. They located the right ones and didn't charge me extra. Previously I found the right bracket for my light. Home Depot and Lowe's didn't have it in stock. Friendly courteous service and fair prices.

A true sleeper. This store looks tiny from the street but it has EVERYTHING. I went for lamp switches and their selection was complete. Fantastic neighborhood hardware store. Don't call just go.

I always find just what i need at Gartner’s, and then some. i needed some plumbing and counter work done in my kitchen and Angel, who works at the store, gave me a great price and did the most amazing job. He replaced a countertop, and because nothing is custom in my apt, cut out the sink and faucet holes on site, re-plumbed everything and added stop valves. everything he did was top rate, he did the work on a sunday, showed up with his team on time, completed the entire job that day and cleaned up after themselves.
in addition, Angel came to my apt twice before the job; once to measure and the other time with his plumber friend freddy who would join him on the day of the job. i felt so comfortable with them that i left the apt while they did the work. i can’t recommend Angel enough - his work is flawless and his promises were real! you won’t regret hiring him - he’s a pro!

I have to say after years of dealing with Trade professionals and supply companies pertaining to the maintenance and upgrade of buildings both commercial and residential I was very happy to need the services of Gartner's Hardware. A dying breed that will never die as long as there are apartment dwellers in NYC . Everything you need from a lightbulb to a coffee pot to a tool this is what service always has been and will be at your neighborhood hardware store.
