Sur La Table

My husband and I did the "DATE NIGHT: BOURBON STEAK DINNER" cooking class together on a Sunday evening. We had a really great time and learned a lot as both of us would like to cook more even though we are not great cooks. The class started promptly on time. The instructor and everyone from Sur La Table were lovely. There were two high top tables and each table had four people (in this case, two couples per table). This is not a set-up where everyone is making everything on the menu individually (like other cooking classes I have been to) but rather all four people at the table are contributing equally or as they feel comfortable to a quantity of the menu that will adequately feed each person at the table. The food was delicious and we were there for a little more than a hour and a half. I would definitely recommend this and do it again.

What a quaint store, the employees all wear silly outfits and do a fun little dance when you walk in. I noticed lots of poor reviews about the restroom situation, to which I heavily disagree. I was personally escorted to the bathroom to conduct my business. While I was initially apprehensive, my worries quickly melted away when I discovered that ornamental design of the urinals and 2 water slides (free to use)! Not to mention, they also let you smoke in the bathroom. Overall, great experience, and if you’re not let into the bathroom, then you probably just don’t deserve it.

This review is specifically for the “Dolce Vita desserts” cooking class. Emily was a fantastic instructor and brought great energy and encouragement to the class (especially for a Sunday morning!). She struck the right balance of detail without overwhelming us with information, while also paying attention to all groups.

Who you are paired with (groups of 4) could make or break the experience. We lucked out and were paired with a lovely couple.

There are restrooms and water and coffee beverages served. The amount of desserts (3 types) created was more than enough food to split between our group of 4. We left with plenty to take home.

Within a 2 hour class, certain pieces had to be prepped in advance, but Emily did a good job of calling this info out and you are emailed the recipes after class.

Pasta Anniversary date!

I brought my wife here as an anniversary present. We've never done a cooking class before but we do cook together often at home. I thought it'd be a nice change of pace and a chance for us to expand our palates. We signed up for the pasta class--making bolognese, egg yolk ravioli and papardelle pastas with a citrus arugula salad. The ravioli was decent but the other pasta and salad were amazing. We were also able to sample a lemon tart and purchase some needed kitchen items at a minor discount! The staff were very friendly and attentive. We are looking forward to taking another class! It was so much fun! Honestly it's really helpful to have the classes because recipes I thought would be challenging the classes show you they are simple. Chef Danny is really good at explaining things and making the class fun. It doesn't hurt they give 10% discount to buy items in the store after class.

Took a bread making class at W. 57th St. with Liz. What a lovely lady and an inspiring experience. Definitely increased my confidence. I signed up for more classes and took advantage of the merchandise discount too. Lots of great deals and a super friendly staff.

This flagship store located in the Hurst Tower right on 57th Street is a beautifully decorated boutique. Every high-end kitchen gadget, appliance, accessory you can think of they have. They also offer classes in their demo kitchen.
The Nespresso shop is no longer located in this business 5/22.

Came here to get Nespresso capsules but unfortunately they permanently closed this location. A very friendly staff introduced me to illy coffee today. Might as well try it out. Thanks for your help today

Today I had the pleasure of working with Barbara who literally walked me through the process of picking out the perfect house warming gift for my friend. Not only did she build a rapport with me, she was patient and attentive to my specific needs. Once I got to the register, I was greeted by an equally pleasant and accomodating teammate named Karen who exceeded my expectations by going the extra mile with gift wrapping my gift accordingly. I'm not a regular, but with this level of service; I will frequent and recommend this place more often.

Thanks Emily for a wonderful bread baking class and hat's off for the excellent customer service in the class and store. This was an awesome experience whereone should try! ;0)

I love this store! It has grea4 stuff, but so do other stores. What makes the. Different is their employees. They're friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

I LOVE this location. The manager, Gloria (Glo), has a wonderful customer service ethic. Glo helped me with a complicated purchase where I was trying to cobble together a set of plates, etc. that were on clearance, but were what I'd been searching for everywhere! She never made me feel rushed, and took considerable time trying to locate the pieces for a full set. Everything was shipped free to my home with in a few days. I live in NJ but took my first class here last week and have already scheduled my second.

One of a limited number of stores that host Nespresso coffee sales desks. Although mail order Nespresso pods are direct shipped rather quick, sometimes it's just better to buy in person. Well, that's pretty much the only place I know where I can do that. They'd always offer a freshly made cup of coffee too.
The store itself is always will stocked. This particular location offers knife sharpening. I haven't taken any classes at this location, but the chain does run generally interesting cooking class sessions that are adorable and always fun.

Signed up for a class and found out, day of the class I could not attend. I called the store and had the pleasure of talking to Tara and Danielle! They were super helpful and understanding. If the classes are as good as the staff, I'm sure I will love my future cooking class.

They have anything you could need for your kitchen at different price points. I come to this location when I need something specific or when I want to pickup a seasonal decor item. Their is a kitchen for classes in the back where you can sign-up for classes. I’ve attended one of their baking classes and absolutely loved it!

The cooking class was excellent! Knife skills 101 was taught by a caring and skilled chef who made a delicious stew with all of our newly chopped vegetables. We learned about knife types and care and practiced skills that I look forward to employing the next time I prepare a meal. Will be taking another class as soon as possible.

Also the shopping experience was excellent. Friendly and highly knowledgeable staff made for one of the best shopping experiences I have had! Even the security guard was super helpful in finding things and explaining one of the more fascinating objects for sale.

SLT is the best place to shop your kitchen’ supplies. They carry top-tier Brands and you always get them at great prices. The staff is always super friendly and they have “cooking classes” I ❤ it!!!

I came to this store after I've been to their UES store. This one is just closer to my apt.
So the prices are not that cheap, but you can be sure that they are reliable.
I had a great costumer experience when one of their workers came and helped me with a big smile.
If you like cooking or baking - you will love this place!
The prices are better than William-Sonoma, and they have a huge selection too!

I'm nowhere near being a chef and really have no business frequenting this establishment. However, I recently acquired a Nespresso Virtuo machine and discovered Sur La Table is like some outlet for the coffee/espresso maker. There's a dedicated, full-on station staffed with experts that dispense product education, sample cups and the iconic coffee capsules themselves. Anytime I'm about to run out of my stash, I make a run to this place. As for the actual kitchen supplies sold here, they're top of the line stuff serviced by really friendly staff.
