This is a saltmarsh over an old landfill site.
Easy to get to, accessible nature trail with free parking & free entry.
Not the most fantastic scenery but when you live in a city it feels amazing to be in nature, away from the hustle & bustle.
Will definitely come here again for a walk.
Clean & feels safe, no facilities other than a portable toilet.
Plenty of benches & viewing hides.

HMDC Nature Center is a wonderful little piece of nature within DeKorte Park. It has nature trails and a scenic lookout for those that seek to take in the scenery of the marshlands . The hiking paths and nature trails provide a most tranquil experience for those who seek to "just get away from the hustle and bustle of the city" and get into a relax mode.
