My experience with Norton Neuroscience Institute has been positive every step of the way. The scheduling team was so kind and caring. After a mishap with my referral being forwarded onto Norton Neurosurgery, which resulted in a call with their super rude scheduler, I was able to get the mistake corrected with the NNI scheduling team. (Shoutout to Glenny for being AMAZING!). The first available appointment was over 5 months away, which was disheartening. I called back a week later to see if there had been any cancellations, and - lo, behold! - they had an opening the following business day! I was provided clear instructions by this new scheduler, who was just as excited as I was that we were able to find this opening (I wish I could remember your name!).

When I showed up for my appt, I was checked in by an older gentleman (probably in his late 70's). He was so pleasant and made me feel welcome and comfortable. It was encouraging to see the diversity of staff throughout my experience with NNI from scheduling to check-in and check-out (age, race, disability, etc - it's a much more welcoming environment, and my husband felt the same way!). I met with Dr. Bazant, who was my top choice after extensively reading reviews. He didn't belittle me; he listened intently and took notes while I laid out my medical and symptom history. He made me feel safe to advocate for myself and ask questions. Having a lot of neuro history in my family, I wasn't coming in as a blank slate, and I wasn't treated as if I was. That is HUGELY important to me, and more doctors can learn from his example.

After a thorough examination, Dr. Bazant was able to allay my greatest fears, while also determining that we should do some follow-up testing to see if we have overlooked anything. The gal who did my checkout was also very knowledgeable and pleasant (shout-out to you, girl!).

I moved to Louisville 4 years ago and have had extremely negative experiences with the healthcare system here. It just doesn't even compare with Indianapolis' healthcare. However, NNI and Dr. Bazant were the first challenge to my Lou experience, and I am incredibly grateful for them. Expertise and great patient care are the way to go! I wish the rest of the Norton system would get on-board with this standard of excellence.

Thank you, Dr. Bazant and team!! Looking forward to identifying the crux of my issues so that we can develop the appropriate treatment plan in which I can be confident.

Dr. Shields, his nurse practitioner, and the rest of the staff have been amazing. I came to this office scared and confused and I was met with understanding and care. I had to have a serious surgery that Dr. Shields preformed and it was done with no complications. I could not recommend this office enough.

I first went to NNI back in 1998, I had all kinds of complications in my neck and needed surgery. Dr John Harpring has taken really great care of me over the years, and the team of Doctors as well. When one cannot be there for you one of the other Surgeons will step right up to the plate!, I have DDD ( degenerative disc disease) Over the course of years I have had 4 neck surgeries and I will not go anywhere else, Dr Harpring was a life savor for me... Nortons Hospital and their staff are amazing as well...Thank you Dr Harpring and all the staff at Norton Neuroscience Institute..And Nortons Hospital (downtown)
