Mr. Ed's Oyster Bar & Fish House Mid City

After a few days of waiting in line for every meal in the French Quarter, getting out at Ed's was like a mirage in the desert. No wait, service was so good, and the food was even better. There is something different about Louisiana hospitality and I love it.

The vibe was chill and laid back. They had plenty of the Louisiana specialties that us tourists are looking for. But let me tell you, don't pass up the potato salad. It'll put your mom's to shame. Also the roast beef po boy. Omg. The flavor and it melts in your mouth. So dang good. One of the best meals we had in NOLA. Thanks guys! Keep up the amazing work.

I have been to Mr. Ed's several times and they never disappoint. I recently ordered a large order to cater my graduation party and everything was spectacular. The food is always fresh and delicious, all of my guests loved it. The manager Nick is great, and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend! A go-to spot in NOLA for great Cajun food and good service.

We got appetizers n split them as our meal. It was all amazing. We had oysters, crab cakes, gumbo n crawfish queso.

Amazing food and great vibes! The best food I have had in New Orleans. From the NE of the USA. Cannot wait to return.

Nothing much to say about the ambiance, it was a quiet evening. But the service was wonderful and the waiter very convenient, taking his time to explain his favorites and to give some personal anecdotes. We enjoyed that.

And. Yes. The food was very good ! Just know that one dish can be for two meals if you take some to go. It's a looot !

My second time trying oysters 31 years of my life and the Bienville was by far the most delicious oysters I ever had! Will definitely come back when I’m in New Orleans again! 🩷

We came in on a Friday night about 45 minutes before closing which generally means your waitress isn't going to be friendly and will rush you. Not the case at all. Our waitress (trinetta) was super friendly and on the ball..one of the best waitresses we've had in a while. Everything we got was so delicious...calamari, roast beef po boy, fried shrimp and fish, and crab cake dinner were all so good. Our alcoholic drinks were good as well. If I had to nit pick I'd say the hostess seemed frazzled and not very friendly. the veggies and sauce served with crab cake dinner were barely warm. And the calamari portion was pretty small and the pieces themselves were pretty small. But the good totally outweighed the bad. We will definitely be going back!

Server Angie and bartender were a delight. After being charged for miniscule oysters at Oceana's (French quarter), these oysters were large and done right! My entire party was pleased with the adult beverages as well. Greeted the moment we entered the establishment and it was clean even though the lunch crowd was dense. Temperature of restaurant was perfect as well. We will always return to this location when visiting NOLA.

We came here for dinner with a friend from out of town and they have a really good mix of seafood dishes of all kinds along with some traditional creole foods. Their chargrilled oysters are amazing! And I had a ‘fish of the day’ special that was not on the menu but our server told us about that has a really good crab mixture on top. They also have really good meatball subs.

Zack and Susana were wonderful, and friendly. The roast beef po boy was right on the spot and onion rings delicious.

The charbroiled oysters with garlic bread are the BEST!!! The seafood gumbo was also super enjoyable! If you’re a fan of oysters, you definitely need to try this restaurant!

Enjoyed my mother's Day dinner with my bronlaw,sister, daughter,and my 4yrs old grandson food was delicious! as always, my sister and bronlaw 1st time eating at MR. Ed 's very happy wasn't disappointed, they enjoy their meal

We enjoyed the Taste of new orleans platter, the kids meal was great as well food was hot along with the pork chops and jambalaya side service by our young waitress was out standing will come again.

The food was excellent. Great tasting Jambalaya, Etoufee and Red beans. We also had a fried platter which was amazing. This restaurant is one of the gems of mid city. The service was great. We did have a long wait time for our food but since we were on holiday we didn’t mind and in the end whatever I ate here was excellent so it was worth it!

I visited Ed's twice while i was in NOLA. The cocktails were AMAZING!! Raw oysters were fantastic!! Oyster shooters is an absolute must here!!

This place never disappoints!! Everytime I go to Mr. Ed's I get great service and a delicious meal. That's difficult to do across settings and whoever manages these restaurants deserves an award! I've been to three of Mr. Ed's restaurants and they are all wonderful places. I tried the char-grilled oysters this time and they DO NOT disappoint. I'll see you all again real soon!

We visit New Orleans every year and love Mr. Ed’s! This was our first visit to this restaurant and it did not disappoint. The servers were friendly and the food was delicious!

Food was hot, fresh and very flavorful. Service was great and food came out fast.

Layton, my server , did an excellent job. He saw that the pieces of fried catfish were small, so he got me another order at no extra cost.
Second review. At Last, I can get raw oysters again! Latoya, my server was quick, and met my needs before I had to ask. Great raw oysters and fried fish plate. I am always satisfied here at Mid City location.
