Good atmosphere for swahili foods. Fast&friendly service
Chicken portion was a bit small conparing the price
All foods we tried were delicious.
Due to popularity , Cannot say its a cheap local restaurant now.

You can find many local food with the reasonable prices. Service is a bit slow because of the crowds. Be sure that you are visible to waiters see you 😂

I’ll give it 5 stars because it really represents the spirit of Zanzibar.

Here tourists and local eat at the same place, it’s really rare in Zanzibar unfortunately…

Heart of Stone Town and top rated for a reason. Lots of options you can walk by and check out which was all amazing. We had small portions of a lot of different items which was the best choice. My favorite was the beef samosas. A have to visit spot.

Excellent food in a great atmosphere. Very good value. Attentive staff. Lovely juices. Highly recommended.

The place is vibrant. The issue was the language barrier. The waiter was trying and cause we learned some local language we managed

Truly delicious! We tried to try a little bit of everything but there were soo many choices so that was hard.
We had the best server who walked us around each station explaining what each dish/item was and then took our order right there. We went to sit in the upstairs area and our food ordered started arriving shortly after.
We also got some juices which tasted great too.

If you are ok with a very casual setting this is your spot. The food is just so good here. We arrived hungry and ordered multiple dishes to share with my husband samosa, chicken, octopus and prawns in coconut stew, biryani rice and other things.

Amazing food. Best local restaurant in town. Great experience. So many variety. Well prices and extremely delicious. There's something for everyone here. Also so many locals here so u know it's good. Always super busy. Highly recommend this place. Had an amazing experience here. Very happy with it

Lukmaan is our favourite place in Zanzibar and makes it a point to go there every time we are there. It has great tasting food at very reasonable prices. You can choose what you want and it's prepared fresh and hot, right then and there.

Recently, we had jumbo prawns, roasted squid, chicken curry, and king fish fillet. Even the mango avocado salad was delightful. The juice options are fantastic (recommend the carrot/orange and ginger juice). The spiced coffee is really something - be prepared for strong doses of ginger and pepper! Lukmaan never disappoints!

What can i say? Lukmaan is among the best for swahili type dishes. The staff are so polite and friendly. Reasonalble prices. Keep up the good work ill definatley come back to znz.

After a week of exploring Stone Town this is our favourite restaurant. Their upper deck is the place to enjoy a great meal and watch people, tourists and locals alike.
My advice: Start on the ground floor. Ask one of the many friendly waiters (with amazing English) to explain the dishes on the counter for you (and quote the price; no surprises and no cheating here!). Then make up your mind, you will find it hard to choose. May I suggest: order a number of dishes, and share.
The bill will not break your bank. Instead you will leave full, satisfied, happy, and curious to explore more of the local cuisine in authentic places like this one.

What a gem! Huge menu(however not everything available) at great prices. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Always busy. For some reason my take out portion of prawn curry was 3 times bigger than dine in. I imagine it’s because they assumed it’s for a local?

One of the rare places where you see locals eat with tourists(mouzoungou), good value, tasty and large variety of food. Lovely staff.
