My stay at Maru Maru Hotel was unforgettable. From the moment I entered, I was enveloped in warmth and hospitality. The hotel's architecture exudes timeless elegance, while my room offered a peaceful sanctuary with breathtaking views. Dining was a culinary delight, with flavorful dishes that celebrated local flavors. What truly stood out was the exceptional service – every staff member went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Whether arranging excursions or offering recommendations, they did so with genuine care. Maru Maru Hotel seamlessly blends luxury, culture, and hospitality, leaving me longing for another stay.

During my short stay, I enjoyed the views from the rooftop and the salt-water pool . The exterior room on the 3rd floor also had gorgeous city and sea views. The room was quiet, very clean, and practical; however, improvements are needed in the quality of the pillows and mattress. The restaurant area at the rooftop served one of the best breakfasts in Zanzibar. The dinner was excellent, offering a variety of options to choose from. We tried traditional Swahili dishes - chicken and seafood curry. Last but not least, there is a very decent and modest spa. Overall, it was a very pleasant and quiet stay, with good amenities, in the beautiful surroundings of vibrant Stone Town.

We loved our stay at Maru Maru. It was in the heart of Stone Town, right next to the Old Fort. You step outside to the shops and cafes. Staff were all friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was lovely, with lots of options and they make fresh parathas! No complaints what so ever.

They also had parking available which isn't easy to come by in Stone Town, but be sure you park in the hotels bays which are free for guests!

We enjoyed a comfortable stay for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids in a family room. The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating. The breakfast and Happy Hour food was good and the drinks were strong. Enjoyed the roof top views and pool. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others considering a trip to Stone Town.

This is an excellent hotel close to many different places to visit in Stonetown.
The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. The roof top is perfect for sunsets, there is a swimming pool and restaurant on the roof top area too.
The food is very good and the buffet breakfast has endless options.
The only negative is that they play music or have live music in the evenings which sounds loud in your room if you are trying to sleep.
The bedroom has AC but the bathroom does not so it feels very hot in there!!

Thank you to the Management and Staff for a fantastic stay. The room was spacious and clean , breakfast was lovely. Location is perfect for Stone Town Touring. The team were friendly and extremely helpful. Will stay there again.

Amazing rooftop bar & restaurant with a fantastic view of stone town and a great selection of local and foreign dishes (highly recommend the seafood).

The rooms are nice and spacious and the staff is helpful with anything from airport transfers to organising tours of various attractions across the island.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed breakfast on rooftop. Great view. Delicious food . So many varieties. They made hot Aloo paratha and Dosa . Masala tea was delicious.

Wonderful place with an an exceptional experience. It feels natural and antique being there. Price is affordable, food is delicious & fresh (its a lot of food), rooms are super clean (accommodated with room bar) staffs are charming and the place is at the center of amazing stone town.

I will definitely recommend this place for anyone who wish to visit zanzibar.

Please inform the room service people if they knock into the room, they should wait for at least few minutes before they decide to open the door by themselves. Otherwise thank you for the very good service.

Maru Maru is a located in the heart of Stonetown, just 5 mins from the sea front and 10 mins from the ferry terminal.
Our room was very clean and cozy with a super shower. It offers everything you need for a short stay. Breakfast was served on the roof terrace and it was superb, with different choices each day.
Service was exemplary. We reported problems connecting to WiFi and the next day an IT engineer had visited and fixed the issue. They even left a bottle of wine to say "sorry for the inconvenience".
The hotel hosts live music each night until 10.30pm, but the noise stops punctually. Given the central location, there is noise in the morning from the call to prayer and from a nearby school. If you are very sensitive to noise, you should take this into consideration.

A wonderful hotel in the heart of Stone Town. It runs like a well-oiled machine. From the shuttle to the cleaners, the supervisors and all staff.

Marumaru is a beautiful Hotel with very helpful, friendly staff. The breakfast is very good, the rooftop pool is a great place to relax for a while and the rooms are very clean and spacious. The hotel is in the center of stone town and only 2 minutes walk from the sea. I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone staying in stone town.

The Maru Maru is a beautiful hotel located in the heart of historic Stonetown. It has all the amenities you are looking for, wonderful views from the rooftop restaurant, great food, amazing and warm staff, excellent massage, and onsite gym. The staff are particularly gracious and welcoming. The hotel also has an on-site tour guide Nemis who is very knowledgeable, warm, friendly and has a great sense of humor. We did several tours with him from the hotel.

We have traveled a lot and we have never had this experience before, great customer service and good people who are very friendly

I had the best experience staying at Maru Maru Hotel, The reception is very good, rooms with white bedsheets and extra clean all corners, Good wi-fi internet, finger licking breakfast buffet. The combination of services and calm environment made my stay memorable.
One small thing to improve, sometimes cleaning bin (equipment) is left at the corridor for long time, it will be good if the bin (cleaning equipment) are kept in its room soon after cleaning.
