Badolina Secret Garden Restaurant

it was the best place so far ( we eat at 7-8 different places ), small restaurant in the city, surrounded by locals. we eat four different foods, a lot of drinks, everything was awesome. Modi, the barman is a very good guy, makes tasty drinks. the staff is very kind with very good english and big smile! we had a very good time there. thx guys!

Dinner was amazing, we had Ceviche and 'The Sahara' chicken, definitely recommend. If you live in Badolina bungalows, you also have fabulous breakfast (Avocado toast and Egg in the nest in the photo). The stuff is super nice, we love to eat here 😊

Delicious and qualitative food. Beautiful ambiance. Friendly waiter. A bit pricey, but the good food and ambiance makes up for it. So go if you’re not on a very tight budget :)

Lovely setting just back from the beach this is dinner of the best middle eastern food I've eaten. And London, where I live, is drowning in great mid east food. We had a platter to share. Everything was stunning. Rest of the family had fish dishes that were also great. Also the coldest beer we had in Nungwi!

We had a very nice eve, Food was delicious, as well as the wine.
We ordered the schnitzel and the chicken noodles.
The atmosphere is super chill, and the waiters are lovely.

Best restaurant we tried on the island (far better than The Rock and Emerson Tea House). Prices are decent and the dishes we tried are flavourful.

Freshly prepared food which is reasonably priced, simple yet clean and tasteful decor. The staff are attentive and friendly, our server was called Iddi and did an outstanding job. Nice music playing, not too loud, good atmosphere.

There is a nearby car park, 1000 per 1 hour up to 3000 for full day. They accept credit card payments with a 5% fee (which is standard for this area) however there is an exchange within 5 minutes walk and an ATM within 10 minutes walk.

The restaurant is a short walk past a few souvenir stores from the beachfront. We had the falafel, mixed dips and pita, and the Pirate (whole fish with chips and salad). The falafels are bite sized but tasty, the pita was lightly toasted on the outside and fluffy inside, and the fish tasted fresh (although beware of the small bones). The restaurant also has a nice hang out spot with a pool table and a swing.

Delicious food, very friendly and polite staff. Food was prepared fast, in comparison to the usual speed in Zanzibar. Close to the beach, yet secluded with nice atmosphere.

One of the places in the whole Zanzibar where you can eat without fear of getting food poisoning. Even recommended restaurants in Nungwi had sub par hygiene and service, but here things were way more consistent. I highly recommend the dip platter with the four dips. The fish and chips were nice too. Overall most of the days the restaurant is well ran, which is in stark contrast with other restaurants in the area.

Such delicious food. After travelling in Tanzania for a long time, it was very exciting to have the Middle Eastern flavours. Everything was well made and tasted perfect.

Excellent food with great vibe, even though it has no ocean view. It had the most comprehensive menu and served the best food we've had on the island. Decent wine options too. Definitely worth your visit.

One of the best meal that you could eat in Nungwi, they have a lot of North African dishes, you have to try them!

The food is delicious (we tried tuna steak and mortician chicken), the service is good, no annoying music or TV shows. The choice of meals is quite big, especially for vegetarians/vegans. Possible to pay in follard. A must visit when in Nungwi.

Fanstastic place. Relaxed and cosy atmosphere. Food was delicious (we tried the samurai, the local falafel and the dessert), fresh juices were okaish, not the best we ever had.

We stayed in Badolina for 3 days and we really enjoyed it. We were kindly surprised by the room, well designed, clean and very photogenic! Nice swimming pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. Manager was very kind and friendly. Hotel locates just a few meters of the beach, the best location ever!!! Breakfast is ok, you can choose breakfast meal from the menu, but on buffet should be more food, you can find there only coffee/tea, and some white toasts with jam and peanut butter, sometimes i was hungry after breakfast.
Overall, if you a looking for a nice place to stay in Nungwi near the beach, Badolina would be a good choice!

There are a few vegan and vegetarian options to choose from. Hopefully the owner who is an Israeli btw, takes into consideration adding.more vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. The place is clean and serving is faster and average places. The humble homous dish is a little unbalanced where they serve you a huge bowl of humous and just little carrots and cucumber. I would add less humous and more vegetables to balance the dish.
