Absolutely fantastic. I've stayed at luxury hotels around the world and the staff here are some of the best I've had the pleasure of interacting with anywhere.
Proactive, welcoming, sincere and thorough are just some of the words I would use to describe them. John on reception was especially great.
It's a beautiful location right on the water. Food at the restaurant was better than expected, I especially loved the avocado toast for breakfast and jumbo prawns for lunch.

We booked this hotel last minute after being let down by another in the area - all I can say is I wish we had come here sooner!
We called and got an excellent rate for a 2 bedroom bungalow with a private pool, and it was one of the highlights of the holiday. Loved the ocean view.
We had dinner and it was nice, happy hour cocktails too. Breakfast was a little less exciting but still good none the less. I’d maybe suggest adding some fans to the dining area, unsurprisingly it was very hot so this could have been a nice extra.

The Zanzibari is a wonderful resort. The food is delicious and all made to order. The hotel is surround by beautiful tropical plants and flowers. Rooms are very nice with large beds, great air conditioning, hot showers, and reliable Wi-Fi throughout the whole resort. Staff are very welcoming and kind. The beach area has swings, hammocks and dozens of lounge chairs as well as a great pool. The only drawback is that the tides change all throughout the day, sometimes the water is too far out to swim and other times it’s high and splashes hard against the rocks. There are also a lot of sea urchins on the ocean floor but the hotel does provide water shoes free of charge to all guests. We mostly swam at the pool and walked along the beach during low tide so we were ok with that. The hotel also has a spa with great massages and is within a 10 min walk of the Baraka Aquarium where you can swim with sea turtles which was definitely a highlight for us. Overall, we loved our stay here and thought it was a great deal!

Beautiful hotel with friendly and attentive staff. We had a great time staying with them. The private beach is very calm and peaceful. The only downside is that it can be a little hard to get to other parts of nungwi unless you take a taxi.

The Zanzibari had the best restaurant and kindest staff of our entire stay in Zanzibar. We fully enjoyed our three days in this beach resort and warmly recommend it. Located directly on the beach, offers possibility of long walks on the sandy coast when tide is low and is close to beautiful sand stripes where to take a swim in light green waters.

I was in Zanzibari with a friend and it's a Marvellous Hotel, there is the swimming pool, sea and beach just in front of our bedroom...going to sleep and waking up with the sea 5 metres from us.. All is perfect:welcoming, cleaning, service, fresh food cooked daily by the restaurant on the beach ( real fish of the day ,vegetables, meat)... In the bedroom we found flowers decoration , AC on, coffe, tea, water and all comforts included... is a Paradise in a Paradise!

We had the perfect honeymoon in the perfect hotel!!

I don't know where to start. We stayed 6 nights in the hotel and we wish we stayed longer.
We booked one of the three new love shacks situated in front of the turquoise Indian Ocean.
The room was fully equipped and beautifully built and organized. We were comfortable and we had no issue with it. We noticed that there aren't mosquitos bothering us but still the hotel insists on spraying the room every night.
The food was amazing!! We tried lots of dishes from the menu and every time the chef surprised us with different ingredients each time, mango or avocado..
The quantity was really generous and we felt full after each meal. The seafood was so tasty.
Along with the Lunch/dinner menu, there was a 5 course dinner every day and we had to choose our main course everyday after breakfast. The standards were higher than we ever expected. And to add on the great food, the staff and waiters were professional and kind.
The pool was 2m deep and it was in front of the ocean. We enjoyed some tasty cocktails either near it or on the installed swings facing the ocean.
The design of the hotel is really simplistic, in a good way, with white sand everywhere, beautiful lights to highlight the path to the rooms or restaurant.., and a well maintained garden.
The other rooms looked great as well and there are even private villas for friends and families.
It is clear that the owners are doing a great job in maintaining this piece of heaven.

Special thanks to Kyoso, with whom we organized this trip. He was really patient with us before coming to the hotel answering all our questions and organizing everything for us. With all of that, he even came with the driver to greet us at the airport. He is a great and kind person and made our stay comfortable. We can't say the opposite on the hotel staff.

We were sad to leave but we will definitely come back to the hotel with our families or friends as Zanzibar has a lot to offer and the Zanzibari Boutique is just as amazing.

This place is simply a tranquil oasis. Very quiet, very remote. Beware, the road to get there is absolute nightmare, it's just a muddy/rubbishy mess full of potholes. Drive carefully.

We stayed in one of the shacks for three nights, you step out and you're right on the beachfront. Swimming on the beach looked impossible but this could have been due to rainy/windy weather we had. The beach only becomes walkable/accessible during low tides. The shacks do not have AC and are open to the wind (but have moskito nets), you'll hear the ocean all night long, we slept like babies but if you need peace and quiet for your sleep, don't book the bungalows but one of the bedrooms with AC further away from the ocean. Even during chilly evenings we were warm under the blankets despite the bungalow being breezy. The shacks are simple but beautiful. The place has a decent restaurant and a nice and well stocked bar.
The hotel provides a good selection of breakfast options, all of which are tasty and available to combine to ones heart's desires.

Other than the pool, not much else there on offer. I'd advise the owner to provide some games, like darts, pool or such to give some variety of entertainment to the guests. I don't think I've seen a single TV in the hotel, certainly a major plus for me, I don't like sports or whatever on the telly in the bar or in the rooms.

One major drawback is lack of hot water, it seems to be solar only and limited supply, so if you're late or the day wasn't sunny, cold shower it is. The accommodation price was expensive for what it is (paid 250USD a night, gulp) but we had a good time regardless.

I recommend getting up early for the sunrise is worth the effort. Evenings provide eventful walks avoiding sometimes quite large hermit crabs and expanse of beautiful starry skies.

We weren't actual guests of the hotel, but we stayed here and used the amenities because our hotel was the worst. They have great food and excellent service. The staff is friendly and accomodating and they went out of their way to make us feel like we belong. If you have the chance to stay with them we highly recommend it. We took the sunset cruise and it was awesome - THE PARTY BOAT FTW! The pool is cleaned every day, the massage was great and they have fast and kind service. Abdullah ( I hope this is how it's spelled) makes everything better and Zori was very entertaining while on the boat cruise.

We had the time of our lives here! It's a wonderful piece of paradise, by all means. The people here are so friendly, professional and well educated, always smiling and willing to share a lot of interesting things about the culture and the country. The food is tasty, flavoured and delightful! On Friday night they organized a swahili traditional night, with local dishes and music. We really enjoyed not only the amazing food, but also the atmosphere! All the guests and the staff were so joyful. Another night, I had seafood salad for dinner and it was just perfect. Soft octopus, tasty shrimps and calamari grilled to perfection. The rooms are cleaned with so much attention to details and everyday we have fresh flowers. Before closing, I want to pay a special Asante Sana! to Lazaro, Kyoso and Zori, we are grateful for their warm and nice way of welcoming us. All the best for you! 🇹🇿🌴💗Hakuna Matata!

I can't say enough good things about the Zanzibari. When I first entered the property I wasn't too impressed by everything..but that's when I left the property and went to the double tree by Hilton and other expensive properties next door to this place

It's unassuming but you'll miss this place when you leave.
Do try the fried coconut king prawns,we had it almost 5 times,it's too good.

Way better than other expensive properties on nungwi.

What an absolute gem of a hotel. The location is pristine, the design of the hotel is unique, and the service is first class. We stayed in the quaint love shack, situated footsteps from the ocean. Kyosa, Lazaru, Amani, Omar- these are the faces and personalities that gave this place so much character and charm. Definitely recommended for a relaxing and hospitable stay.

In Zanzibar you will find a different landscape around every corner: the idyllic beaches and ocean, become a playground for diving, snorkeling and kitesurfing, while the narrow alleys of historic Stone Town meander between ancient buildings decorated with balconies and gigantic carved doors. Whether you are looking for an ideally-located hotel to explore the island, or as part of your adventurous holiday, The Zanzibari has you covered. This boutique hotel’s excellent location on the North-Eastern tip of the island and its peaceful surroundings make it the perfect destination for those after somewhere a bit smaller, offering a relaxed atmosphere and simple but efficient rooms.

Do not miss the chance of getting to see the cool surroundings of the spa room which overlooks the Indian Ocean. The hotel offers water activities such as snorkel and scuba diving.

My few days of staying at The Zanzibari was amazing. Nothing went wrong, nice, caring and welcoming staff.

Also, the staff were kind and always keen to help, nice meals taste so yummy, clean rooms, enough water in the rooms, for me, it was one of the most perfect places. also, it’s felt like I was just at home.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel The Zanzibari and THANK YOU for making my holiday to remember Zanzibar, Tanzania 🇹🇿.

If I will come back again, I will stay at The Zanzibari Hotel, Nungwi. Inch’Allah.

Big up to all the staff✌!

Very nice. Staff anticipated what we wanted to the point it was almost creepy. In a good way! Nice and secluded, when you just want to relax for a few days after a safari.

Help the ocean, have a flip-flop!
