TGI Kibanda Lodge & Restaurant

Amazing place with an amazing italian owners. Rooms are spacious, AC works well, calm place to stay and relax. The food is amazing, all the staff is very helpful and king, always in a good mood.
This hotel has their own beach club. It is 10 minutes walking to it, but definitely worth it. Amazing view, sun beds on the beach's shore, amazing tartare tuna, wine and many more. Try this place !

Kibanda Lodge is has a very nice atmosphere. Staff are very friendly.
Stayed 4 nights. It's close to the beach and a lot of shops for Arts and craft. It was a great experience. Highly recommended.

The hotel is just wonderful, we enjoyed our stay. The territory is beautiful, everything is done with a taste, but the most important thing are the managers Margot and Francesca, they always helped and fulfilled our small requests. We are stayed with a toddler, and all the staff were very friendly towards our child. The rooms are not large but comfortable and clean, cleaning can be done upon request on any day, the most important thing for me was that the hotel provided a crib. We really liked the pool, there is a deep and shallow part where it was convenient to swim with a child, and a big plus was that you could swim in the pool until late at night under the stars. The public beach with restaurants and shops is within walking distance of about 3 minutes, you could also use a transfer from the hotel to Kibanda beach club, which is located at the northern point of the island and about 10 minutes away. We liked everything so much, thank you very much for the warm welcome and care, I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends.

The best in Nungwi. Rooms are very beautiful and food is amazing. Very close to the beach just 1 min by foots. The organization with activities was perfect and the stuff and the owner of the resort are really kind and hospitable. Love love love

Nice swimming pool with salty water, open from 9 till 22, so You can swim even after dinner. Its really nice to swim and look to the stars. Rooms are just correct.
5 minutes to the beach, 5 minutes to the center of the village, shops around, just good location to everyone.

Very nice place to stay! Friendly staff doing their best! A bit noisy at times due to construction work close by. A beautiful garden with palms and flowers. Really nice! And a great pool!

Service was amazing. Francesca and all the staff were very welcoming, the pool and room were very clean. We had breakfast and dinner at the lodge and enjoyed both the meals very much. We also booked a snorkeling tour at the hotel with Suleman and had a pleasant experience. It was an overall amazing experience, would definitely recommend the place to anyone visiting nungwi beach. The beach is a very short walk away from the lodge.

Close to the beach, clean and the new pool is amazing. The food is quite nice, breakfast has large variety, cocktails available. Staff and management are very friendly and attentive.
Extra bonus for us was that they allow pets. 🐾

I was at the lodge only for 2 nights but I had a lovely stay. They are extremely friendly and helpful and I had great fresh breakfast every morning I was there.

The room was super clean and well maintained and they helped me set up my dive as well and just overall made my trip to Nungwi soo much easier and more pleasant. They were super easy to get in touch with and helped me with the airport pick even at the last minute. 10/10 would recommend! Plus they are just a 5 minute walk from the beach.

After traveling Sansibar and staying in four different locations we ended up in the kibanda lodge.
We stayed in total two nights and our result is it was probably the best accommodation we had but by far not the most expensive one.

Price:
Price is very decent for nungwi. We stayed in different spots in nungwi and Kendwa but this was the best regarding what you get for your money.

Service:
Very nice staff and very helpful. We had a nice greeting they showed us around. They really cared and made sure we are well.

Location:
It is a 4-5 Minute walk to the beach in nungwi. For us it was completely ok that there was no direct beach in front. It is on only 200-300 Meter to get to the best part of the beach in nungwi. And on the way good opportunities to buy water.

Facility:
Very modern and new. Big rooms with a lot of space and good vibes.
I would say they are like the uploaded pictures. We liked everything about it.

Hygiene:
So far i think they had the best idea what hygiene means to tourists.
Public toilets were always clean, the only hotel that told us not to drink the water from the sink therefore provided bottles. The only ones that asked us if we like ice cubes in the drink and also breakfast was tidy.

A la cart menu:
I had two things Crêpes and pasta. The prices here are comparable high for nungwi. But for us it was worth it. Quality and serving was justifying the price. Since we had a bid stomach problems before the stay we were super happy to eat here since Hygiene seemed really good and we became better.

Improvement:
Overall definitely a hotel I would recommend.
However, we would have liked a safe in the room. Even though whole facility made a good impression.
We had no Moskito net. I mean we also had mo Moskitos, so not to important.

The hotel has no pool, but we also didn’t miss it since the ocean is close. The hotels we stayed in with comparable standards were approximately 30 euro more expensive per night.

We stayed at Kibanda from the 24th Nov until 3rd Dec. It was me and other three girlfriends, and we were celebrating two birthdays. The staff at both the Kibanda lodge and the beach club went out of their way to make our stay wonderful.

Upon check-in we were offered a complimentary upgrade to the deluxe bedrooms, located on the upper floors. On the day of our birthdays they set up our breakfast and dinner tables with flowers and decorations, and they all came out singing and dancing and brought cake and drinks on the house. Even the playlist in the background was birthday themed, and when we went back to our rooms, the housekeepers had also set up the bedrooms with flowers, it was very touching.

Everyone, from the front desk team, to the bar and restaurant team, housekeepers, beach club staff, night shift security, chefs and even their beach police was so friendly and helpful. A big shout-out to Margot, Francesca, Ieva, Matteo and Iddi. Our trip wouldn't have been the same without you! A shout-out to the breakfast chef too! I woke up in London this morning and nobody was there to make me my avocado toast with one fried egg 😭

The rooms were lovely, with comfortable beds and both fan and AC. All windows had mosquito nets and I believe the housekeepers sprayed the rooms and balconies with repellent every day.

The food was to die for, especially at the beach club, even though it was so hot and humid we could never finish any meals, but that's just us not being used to the tropical weather. There were plenty of options with fresh fish (catch of the day and tuna tartare were some of my favourite) and seafood. We definitely stocked up on omega 3. Hats off to their chefs! They also use filtered water for their ice and to wash the food, so you can drink as many cocktails and eat as many fresh salads as you want without any worries. Definitely Hakuna Matata!

Their Masai Matteo was always looking after us and made sure we were safe at all times. He is an absolute gem (and he loves a good party 😁). Their beach police also looked after our belongings whenever we went for a swim, and would come and stand closer to us whenever the beach sellers became a little too insistent.

The beach club is within walking distance from the hotel, about 10 min walk, however the roads are very run down, especially after it rains. The hotel provides complimentary beach towels every day and offers a complimentary taxi service to the beach club and back. Most of the times we had the same driver which we only know as Big Boss, he was also very friendly and made our short trips more fun!

The hotel also offers complimentary sunset cruises every day from 4.30pm-6.30pm. It was so much fun!

Even though everything in Zanzibar is very pole pole, the staff at the Kibanda was very quick and prompt with any request we had.

We met some wonderful people and had the most amazing time. I'm already planning to come back hopefully next year. Thank you guys for an unforgettable stay and see you again soon!

The service was amazing. The rooms…BEAUTIFUL. The food….DELICIOUS. Truly a 5 star experience. Would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Zanzibar.

Kibanda Lodge is situated in the heart of Nungwi, only 3-5 minutes of walk from the beach and you can also find many shops and restaurants nearby.

When you enter through the gate it feels like you have arrived to an oasis. It has a beautiful garden with swimming pool and a jacuzzi. You never have to fight for sunbeds as there are more than enough.

The lodge has 21 rooms and we have stayed in a deluxe room. The room is simple but nice and very clean. We are hard sleepers but found the bed to be very comfortable. The water pressure in the bathroom was mostly very good. Having said that when there is an electricity blackout there is no water but whenever that happened it did not last long and blackouts are very common in Zanzibar even in high end resorts.

The owner of the lodge, Margo was born to do this. She did everything she could to make our stay memorable. She came to talk to us whenever she saw us and had a few minutes to spare. She always smiles ans lifts your mood. She even surprised us for our honeymoon with room decoration and a plate of fruit.

Margo's right hand, Francesca who is usually at reception is also very friendly and would help you in any way she can.

The staff at Kibanda Restaurant has made us feel like home. They remembered from day 1 which room was ours (for seating) and always welcomed us with a smile.

The only downfall for us that I should mention was the breakfast. It's not the quantity or the quality of what you could have but the selection. There are no cereals or croissants which I think would have made it much better instead of some of the cakes they had. We never left hungry though.

All in all I would recommend Kibanda as the hospitality made up for any small issues we might have had.
