Deep-fried Egg Scallion Pancake (Yellow Truck)

Had 4-5 people ahead of us but we were served very promptly. Waited around 5mins for our order of 2 to be ready when we went on a Wednesday at their opening time. Super friendly service. 10/10 worth it, must try! Get the chilli egg addons if you can take slight spice. It’s not very spicy but adds a whole new dimension to the flavour.

Came on Wednesday 12.40pm, big order before so waited around 10minutes. I got the one with egg and i was mindblown. The pancake is fried to perfection and the half cooked egg yolk gave oomph to the flavor. Remember it’s the yellow truck. I also tried the other stall and feels like this one taste better.

Not overly oily despite it being deep fried. Somebody bought at least 20 at one go so you know it's good. Egg is still runny and that's the specialty

Defo worth the travel for! Scallion pancake was chewy with exploding egg yolk in the center. Take caution when you bite the yolk to prevent spilling all over! - MUST GET the one with Egg! 45 yuan!

delicious good quality scallion pancake with its famous yellow truck. Service was quite fast and there were many customers who kept on coming. I recommend to add egg to make it taste even better!

The 葱油饼 is so heavenly!! I love the spicy, no egg version as the sauce is so savory and I can better taste the fragrance of the scallions. Tasted amazing when you eat there in the spot as it’s still hot, crisp, and savory! Just be prepared to queue as everything is freshly made (worth it though). The queue can be confusing for first timers as you need to order directly with the lady first and she will tell you your queue number. Afterwards, you just hang around until your number is called.

Delicious fried pancake a must try in the city ! You have to order first asking for with or without egg, spicy or not spicy. Then they give you a number and once it’s ready they give it to you !

So yummy! If you come at random times during the day it’s not so crowded. Some of the best scallion pancakes you’ll ever eat, and definitely worth all the calories 😉

Best thing I have eaten in Taiwan. Scallion pancake topped with a gooey fried egg and brushed with some kind of delicious sauce.

Awesome street food ambiance, queuing in a dimly lit alley in front of an old food truck. No English menu, but NTD45 is what we paid for a Pancake with egg. And it was AWESOME!

These are absolutely delicious, and a must-eat when in Hualien. Many reviews say the line can be very long, but we stopped by around 3 and were immediately served, so it just depends when you go.

Fair warnings! They come out super hot, so watch your tongue. Also, be careful when biting into it in general. I was not careful (or warned) and as a result had egg splurt out of the damned thing all over my pants. 小心 - Don’t lose your precious yolk!

My goodness. Don't go on a day the other truck is closed! The blue truck was closed on the day we went and everybody lined up for the yellow truck. We were about 30 numbers away and it took exactly an hour (in the rain) because one guy bought 30 of these. It's pretty pricey for what it is at 35NT per with a running egg. But it was fried crispy to perfection probably with lard. We each had two and it was very satisfying and thankfully we did not have a heart attack from this very unhealthy food. Would be great if the lines did not take an hour. But I would line up again.

It's quite oily but I still love it as its really nice. Regretted only buying 1 to share with hubby but too lazy to queue again for more. Order more, you won't regret. You go up, take a queue number and wait for your number to be called. Then you tell the staff your orders. You can choose between fully cooked egg or still has soft yolk.

Absolutely worth the wait and huge line - be prepared in the sweltering heat and grab a lemon jelly drink across the street after you place your order ^^ The deep fried congyoubing is crispy on the outside and soft and chewy on the interior, paired with a goey egg yolk that bursts as you bite into it, enveloped with flavorful hot sauce ... it's actually a perfect food. Must try!! Wish we had ordered twice as much 🤣

Absolutely delicious! Make sure you get it with the spicy sauce, it's not too hot! Get twice as many as you think you want because you'll wish you had more but you won't want to wait in line again! We went around 3:30 on a Wednesday and waited for about 20 min.

Yum yum yum! Don't miss it if you're in Hualien. They sell only one thing here - fried spring onion pancake, but you can order it with or without egg, and choose between cooked and half cooked egg. There's always a long queue here. Be patient. The result is well worth the effort.

Very tasty, very unhealthy. A lot of people complain about wait times, but I got in and out in under 5 minutes so maybe I just got lucky. I ordered it with spicy which wasn’t very spicy but it was very delicious. It is very unhealthy, so I’m glad I got a fresh lemon drink across the road to wash it down. Worth the cheap $30nt price. Definitely recommend if you’re in Hualien.
