A beautifully sited disused sugar factory with multiple sales outlets and covered seating. A road train takes you on the grand tour. Only you don't see much of the sugar manufacturing plant, probably just as well because what could be seen was quite decrepit.

Most people know that ice creams is the most popular at this sugar refinery. But there are more things you can dig actually. It's great that they have a train to show you around. The train will take you to the past. Go and experience yourself.

This is a fun place to visit, and a comfy place to stay a night.
For visiting, ice cream is yummy, spacious area is good to sit, to talk, to walk and to bike.
For staying, the wooden houses are clean, cozy, comfy, and welcoming.

Definitely a must visit for ice cream lovers. Might want to take a short break between orders for your taste buds to rest. Even the wasabi flavor tasted great, happily surprised.

The train tour was fun, only in mandarin though. The ice cream was delicious and refreshing!

A historical place with interesting stories. It was a sugar factory and now it’s a touristic place. Tourists can enter the factory and have a detail tour with a knowledgeable guide. They also renewed the Japanese dormitories and transformed it into a nostalgic B&B! And They have good ice cream!

Great spot to take kids, has many good tourist shops attached to it and the fish pond is full of fish

If you want to learn about the history of sugar production in Hualien County, this sugar factory is the place to go. The complex is home to restored wooden buildings from the 1895-1945 Japanese colonial era (accomodation in tatami rooms available).

There are information exhibits about the factory’s history, a popular ice-cream shop, and much more.
