Well preserved historical landmark with a dark past. It’s been preserved and repurposed with a poetic focus hosting an annual Poets Festival.

Beautiful pine trees with a nice lily pond. The cafe has some unique drinks with local creations.

This was an awesome historical visit! The art exhibit upstairs was awesome, it was very exciting to clamber down into the air shelter, and I found the pine trees and view from the balcony serene. I got a 冰美式 at the cafe and sipped it as I explored, then bought a nice glass necklace from a woman. And who can forget the souvenir stamps?!

This is the nice place to sightseeing. Find information about history of 蔣中正 house. The air is fresh. After house has a coffee shop with the special fruit from pine needles. It has a house with Japanese style. In general, it is nice place to discovery

I've made multiple visits to this enchanting location, each time finding myself profoundly moved by the grandeur of the historic architecture. The sprawling garden, home to towering trees, creates an all-encompassing sense of tranquility. The sight of the vast ocean, stretching into infinity, leaves an unforgettable spectacle on one's mind.

The view from the garden over the city and sea was beautiful. The trees were incredible, the way they have grown and spread. The supports they have installed to help the trees grow upwards were wonderful. The wooden sculptures they have placed throughout the garden are enjoyable, especially the moose. The gift shops were nice with lots of beautiful items.

One of my favorite places in Hualien, historically, culturally and artistically important, the staff are the best. Great place to pick up gifts.

A peaceful haven.

We stopped off for a coffee (opens at 9:00 a.m.) and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

It costs between 25¥$ and 50¥$ to enter, a modicum sum that goes no doubt towards the upkeep of the grounds and staff.

A stroll around the grounds to take in the majestic pines was followed by a visit to the arts and crafts centre to see the aboriginal works and then the gift shop.

We ended our visit with a viewing of the upstairs exhibition centre, which was delightful.

A historical place with great spirit!! Very peaceful and quite chill to walk around. The main building with all the pine trees is very photogenic. Some nice exhibitions are going on as well. Do visit this place while you are in Hualien!!

At a small cost of NT$50 per person, you can enter into the garden/backyard of the historical mansion (of course the building itself as well) to take a quick tour and lots of beautiful photo.

Additionally, you will be helping the maintenance and preservation of these gorgeous pine trees!

Former Japanese military facility, later used by the Americans, and now just a beautiful park with old pine trees and a quiet setting. Great place to stroll around and look out over the city in a relaxing environment.

The heavenly luxurious club that the Japanese kamakaze stay at before they go for their suicide missions. It was also the Japanese military base overlooking the airport and the harbor. It briefly served as American club after the Japanese retreated.

IMO, Probably the best thing to see in Hualien overall. Small but beautiful grounds and view. An interesting story about the Japanese pilots as well

Higher view of the ocean. Cool ocean breeze makes it a great spot to rest and relax for a while. Also has an entrance fee.
