I'm very happy I went here, it's a tiny, busy spot that seems full of friendly locals . The carne guisada (Beef stew) was fantastic .

BEST MEAL in Ponta Delgada. Simply a must go if your are visiting.

The food is just great! The best beef stew ever, so tasty! The service is not excellent but the family food they serve is definitely worth it. I had to way 45 minutes for a table to be free because they just have 4 and it's usually very busy. I'll suggest to go there early but don't worry if you have to wait it worth every minute. Prices are fair and the Especial beer is so refreshing! They also have delicious sweet bean pasties as dessert.

I'd rather keep this place a secret but a local was kind enough to recommend this tasty spot so I'll pass it on. Chicharros are the usual order here but do not sleep on the beef stew. Seriously.

Very small place and very popular with locals, so you know it's good. Very cheap (mostly 6 EUR per dish) filling, good tasting fresh food with a similar atmosphere to an english cafe/chip shop. The menu is very simple with a dish of the day, and food very filling and the staff very welcoming.
A little tricky trying to find the place, but it serves food from 12:00 - 15:00.
Shame I found this place so late on my holiday as I wanted to try the whole menu.
The food in the picture is the fried sardines menu, and it was absolute heaven.

We came to lunch ar around 12:30 but most of the menu was already sold out! Nevertheless we had some great fried fish, carapau frito. It is the places' specialty and it was so good, addictive!

Wonderful staff, and beyond delicious and fresh food. The portions are generous and the cost is affordable. I would say- arrive early! Many of the fish dishes sell out quickly.

Only serve food at lunch. We went around 7pm, stopped in for a couple of drinks. Owner is friendly and this is definitely a community spot, he was like the mayor of the district. Legend.

If you want to visit authentic local restaurant, it's must-visit place! I loved the food and portions are quite big. Be ready for no free tables, especially at the lunch time.

This place is very popular with the locals, and you'll probably share your table with several of them. It gets busy. Prices are low and the food is really good. The chicharros were excellent, and the wine/cola drink is refreshing. The migas were my favorite though, but its more of a side dish.

Without hope or agenda, some of the best fish I've ever eaten. The sardines are stunning and the mackerel smacks so hard they should call it smackerel. THE essential foodie spot in Ponta, no doubt

Brilliant small place to eat with locals on a budget. You might not get a table as it is really small. The food is delicious! You can taste some real Portuguese dishes here.

Food is awesome. we had the chicharros fritos ( fried small fish) and the beef plus a ghirrafa of the house white wine.they have a daily menue. all in all it's a traditional local joint which brings you the vibe of the Island! must try !

Delicious local cuisine. Based on a recommendation of few locals webhad the fried Mackerel and fried Sardines, the sardines were our favorite. Inexpensive, fast and worth the walk from the center.

Excellent food. Small place so be ready to stand in line waiting on a table. May also seat locals ahead of you if you’re clearly from out of town, though I fully support this behavior.

If you are fan of stewed beef this is definitely your place. In my personal opinion it's the tastiest beef in the world. Not sure about grilled sardines though. 😂

Looking for traditional Portuguese food? This is the place. Great food, great atmosphere, great service.

Had the fried chicharros. I liked it a lot. Had to wait a bit because it was very busy, take away was possible !
