The market was open and some butchers one fishery and several vegetable shops were open. Most of the market was closed, it is winter and beginning of the year so that's expectable. Nevertheless we got what we needed and everybody was super friendly. And a great place to visit. Ask the fisherman about their products they love to tell you about the fish or just watch them do their work. The facilities were clean and everything was working properly. Great place to shop.

Great fruits and vegetables market located in the underground parking. Nobody shouts, nobody tries to swindle you, everyone is very polite and accept credit cards. Stark contrast to the market on Madeira. Highly recommended, fruits are of a really good quality.

The best time to visit this place is Saturday morning. When comming on other days you can see only half of it, as some of the stands/booths will be empty. There is great variety of fruits and vegetables, with the labels stating the origin (when its "regional", then you see the name of the island). Pineapples and bananas are a must, but the local cheese shop is also very good place to check.

Small place but nice selection of vegetables and fruits. Make sure you have coins to pay for the parking at a parking machine, no cards or bills accepted.

Fantastic market for local vendors. I was able to purchase azorean jams and honey from a lovely older gentleman who was very kind and helped explain products in limited English. I highly appreciate the warmth and friendliness! I was able to pay with card

Much needed haven of fruits and vegetables. I went on a Friday morning and it was busy, but not too crowded. Lots of different items from different sellers so shop around. Many spoke English as well which was helpful and made the experience less stressful. 5 stars!

Awesome market full of fresh produce! Not all is local, a lot imported so have a walk around if your looking to buy local! Open everyday, closes in the afternoon! Very very reasonable prices and good quality! C

Beautiful farmers market, lovely fresh produce and nice to wander round even if you dont want to buy anything. Flowers, seeds, honey, sauces and pineapples available too!

We found it on our last day though we dint buy anything but there were lot of things available like fruits , veges ... It's a local market of the city .

Not a touristic place, but you should pass by if you want to feel local atmosphere.
You will find there the best fruit and vegetables, fresh and local.
We bought some ananas, chili and anona there, they were all succulent.
Marchand are very friendly and well advised.

The grapes are amazing! They had good prices on fresh produce and there are a variety of stores nearby for cheese, meat, etc.

Amazing selection and good prices, not too touristy.

Nice market, in English farmers market, close to marina, there is a famous cheese shop inside which is always crowded but cheese from all islands is available and you can taste which is named O Rei Dos Queijos (King of Cheese)
