Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeirões

A must-see when visiting Sao Miguel. We visited on a wet, cool November day and it was magical! You are surrounded by waterfalls in a spectacular setting with trails to explore, historical markers to provide context, a cafe, gift shop and bathroom. Beautiful views around every corner.

Amazing park, waterfalls, a bar, souvenir shop and even an Airbnb inside the park. Love this place, beautifully designed and taken care of. Congratulations to the guys that work there everyday and congratulations to the municipality.

So beautiful!!! Easy to get around, stunning grounds that are very well kept, the waterfalls are lovely - a must go!

Beautiful park with waterfalls and lush vegetation. There are longer hikes around the area that lead you through the forest but those are a little more technical and challenging than the paved areas.

Gorgeous area to walk around to see waterfalls, plants and flowers. The top waterfall is close to the parking lot (which doesn't have a large amount of parking) and is very scenic. The path takes you very close to the water. The valley nestled in between the parking lot has amazing scenery! There's a stone building with a tourist office in it & steps down that makes a beautiful picture. Following the path down leads to the top of the waterfall, great perspective being above it. Walking further down the path brings you to the bottom of the falls where there's a pool of water, grills & tables. I think these falls are my favorite place on the island.

This natural park is very nice and gives opportunities for hiking and other activities in a beautiful natural environment. There is a river with waterfalls and luxuriant vegetation around. Also some watermills and other old buildings. A place you have not to miss when visitin Sao Miguel island.

This place was so soooo beautiful ... Full of greenary ,waterfall .I felt beautiful n fresh .
I saw there some people were doing picnics .
I enjoyed going down then climbing back up .
There a beautiful waterfall.
There is a shop to buy some drinks bcos the weather was lil hot when we were there.
There are different things available in that shop like tokens .
I got a key chain n grabbed some chocolates.
There are toilets available here.
There is free parking available I guess not sure but parking is there .

Beautiful Park, very green with many waterfalls a perfect place for a nice walk with sun or rain

One of the most beautiful places in São Miguel island. There are several waterfalls in Ribeira dos Caldeirões. When you reach the parking lot, across the street is the largest and most famous waterfall called the Bride's Veil. This is the first thing we see upon arrival. This is definitely the main attraction of the park. There is a short path around to take photos. The park has a picnic area for visitors, so you can have fun there and bring your own food for a special lunch. The views are stunning!

Entrance to the park and parking is completely free. Inside Ribeira dos Caldeirões there is a cafe, gift shop, handicraft center and even a play area for children. Interestingly, if you want to spend more time in this beautiful area, accommodation in typical rock houses is available.

Such a beautiful place! We really enjoyed our morning there! Clean, organized and free. Recommended

Found this little hidden gem after my hike from Pico da Vara. Very easy access, nice café and souvenir shop inside, and much more.

The waterfall, hill, flora and fauna... It's like looking at a fairy tale. This hill is so beautiful I couldn't believe it was real when I first saw it. Way better when you see it in person! There's also a hiking trail that goes up into the woods. Must see!!!

A must visit place in the island. The nature park has many waterfalls and short trails and has no entry fee.

There are free parking space and restrooms are also available. In case you are interested in buying some souvenirs for your loved ones then don't forget to check out the small shop. Also, this place is very ideal for having a picnic with your family or friends.

We did not had this location on our list initially, but definitely we do not regret coming here.
The main waterfall is really nice, if it is hot enough outside you can bathe.
There are multiple ones and you can have a walk inside the park, even have a snack/drink.

Our road-trip vacation to Sao Miguel Island included this stop while discovering the east side of the island. I am very glad to have selected this stop as there was a lot to see.

The park has several waterfalls, old mill buildings to go inside, a small man-made pond with koi, a small cafe and souvenir shop (closed when we visited). The paths are paved, some are sloped but not too difficult.

We spent well over an hour exploring, it was raining, so we might have spent longer if it was a nice sunny day.

Beautiful park with walking and hiking paths to see waterfalls, scenery, an old mill, water features and more. Absolutely worth a stop. You could easily spend a few hours hiking or visit just for a short stroll. There's a nice gift shop too.

Amazing and a must visit - beautiful waterfalls and wonderful gardens that are also really interesting as you can find out about the old water mill and how the water was channelled.

Lovely gift shop, a tea shop and a clean free to use toilets. Lots of parking and a fantastic free attraction.

This place is magical, as the whole island itself. There is plenty of beautiful trails in the park to do. Additionally in a little shop you can try local icecream with some amazing tastes.
