Make sure you have EUROS!!!! The Springs were amazing. The natural noises of the streams sound surreal. The bubbling springs where people were sitting, relaxing, and enjoying were nice. There is a place to change clothes. The pathways are super clean and an easy route to the top springs.

I could smell sulfur. I wonder if anyone else could. It's just a beautiful place to visit.

This is a beautiful place. We made reservations on line to ensure we had a spot as suggested by other reviews.
10€ per person.

Showers are available.

- 2 hot tubs
- 1 boiling tub
- 1 warm waterfall

It is time and money well spent.

Book it in advance!

We have been lucky we got two spots for a bath without booking online. It is a beautiful natural reserve in the forest.
You can buy an entrance ticket for 3€ (just for a walk) or the spa option for 10€. I definitely recommend the more expensive one - the hot springs are so cool. It shouldnt be crowded, because they allow only specific number of people to enter the reserve. The upper pool is about 25 degrees warm with waterfall included - so beggin there. The other 3 pools have around 33 degrees, so you can get warm after the upper one.
There are showers, toilet and changing rooms inside. Try to look around all the time, the jungle there is extremely beautiful!

Make reservations ahead of time! You can't get in without one. You can also reserve a locker for your stuff ahead of time. It's easy to do online.

Definitely a cool experience if you've never been to a hot springs. Beautiful setting in the forest.

Pro-tip: if it's crowded at the first changing rooms/lockers, go up the hill past the visitor center area and there is another changing area/lockers that was completely empty when we used it

Great thermal water, there are three separate pools, one with a waterfall that is colder, one that is 36-37 degrees Celsius and one that is probably 40+

One ticket was 10 eur for 1.5h visit. Also when you come look when the next wave of people are let in, there are fixed times all people need to leave for new ones to be let in

We really enjoyed our time here, largely due to the scenery. It is a beautiful place! Would recommend getting tickets in advance and renting 1 locker for 2 people (1 pp if you're carrying a lot of stuff). You wait a bit for the change rooms so you may want to wear your swimsuit into the park.

This is definitely a tourist spot but it’s an incredible spot to visit. The Caldeira Velha isn’t as hot as it used to be but the smaller springs are still fairly hot. Great spot for photos. Book in advance as time slots do fill out quickly.

Beautiful space. The waterfall pool is the best by far but is colder than the rest at 24 degrees where the others are 36. The other pools are quite shallow and crowded. Definitely book a slot ahead of time. The lockers are small so either travel light or get more than one. The lockers are crowded and so are the changing stalls. There’s only one bathroom stall for each gender and the showers are cold water. The rock paths are slippery when wet and uncomfortable to walk on so make sure you bring flip flops.

Big 5 stars for them!!! Bathing was cool. You can pay additional 2€ for the locker. The last waterfall pool is very cold, better to go there at the beginning and then enjoy hot ones at the end :) They’re VERY hot.

PS. I lost my Apple Watch there. I called them and they found it 🙉😍 Many thanks guys!

Very nice place with natural hot pots and a colder pool with waterfall. My recommendation would be to come in the morning (it opens at 9am). Even though the max number of visitors is restricted, even this number seems quite high compared to the available space.

Amazing experience in Caldeira Velha. There are 4 baths total, one with waterfall , two hot baths and two with cooler temperatures, but still warm. Make sure you book your tickets online ( especially in main season), because most likely will be sold out. The entry is for 1,5 hour and it’s more than enough. Adult ticket is 8€, locker 2€.

Such a beautiful park! Short walk to the hot springs, there’s several different pools. There are changing rooms in the park. 3 euros to just walk through or 10 euros if you’re going to swim

Wonderful. Only complaint, large group of teenagers traveled in a pack from bath to bath. They were loud and rowdy. Takes you out of the experience which was otherwise paradise.

Gorgeous almost jungle like nature surrounds these baths. So beautiful. So relaxing.

Nice Thermal Pools embedded in lush green scenery. Far less crowded in the morning. Was worth the money compared to other hot pools.

Ideally, you are already in your swimming suit prior to arrival as the changing facilities are sparse. There is a changing room at the far end of the park near the waterfall pool which appears to be less occupied relative to the first set of change rooms prior to the public WC's.
This set of hot springs is like being on the set of Jurassic Park: lush, treed, oppressively green. We were lucky: it started to rain when we were in the warmest pool and we snuck in some shelter under a palm tree where fat globs of rain from the palm fronds burst on our noses at about 15 degrees cooler than the spring water, itself. The sound of the frogs nearby, general buzz of people around, kids happily splashing around in some warm February water, and rain soaking into the forest was a tonic for the soul. A special place.

Really nice place where you can experience thermal baths right in the nature. The entry I believe was 10€ per person for hour and half which is one session. You are only allowed to enter the baths at the beginning of the session so I recommend you to check the times before you go up there. There is also a free parking area and some buffet where you can buy a quick snacks. Changing rooms are also in the area.

Very very beautiful thermal pools inside a forest full of all kinds of beautiful trees and plants. 3 thermal pools & a waterfall. Make sure to go in the waterfall pool first (it’s warm but not hot) and then go down to the warmer pools you pass when you arrive.

They allow 200-250 per 1.5 hour session, so you can arrive to book but have to wait for a later session if you don’t book earlier enough. Not terrible with all the beautiful viewpoints around to kill the time though!

It's a must! There are 3 warm (hot) pools and one with the waterfall, which was quite chilly in February, but in summer it could be very refreshing. IMPORTANT: There are timeslots! You can stay for 1,5 hour. We visited the 15:00-16:30 slot. The enviroment is MAGICAL, it's really really recommended if you are in Sao Miguel. We visited it 2 times :)

We had a fun afternoon here! The 1,5h tickets we bought online were enough to go in all 3 pools and read about it in the museum. The water is really nice and interesting to see.
