This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We had the monkfish cataplana and the tuna and both meals were amazing, with surprising flavors. The service is friendly and welcoming, and contributed to a great and fun night. We also shared three homemade deserts at the end of the night, which were also delicious and balanced. I would recommend Esquina to anyone around Burgau!

We booked a table for 6 and was absolutely astonished by how good the food was here.
The Cataplana has to be the best in the Algarve, the Peri-Peri chicken is the tastiest that we have had over the course of our 3 week visit to the area, the children's chicken meal is something totally different to all others that we have tried.. Reading previous reviews of poor quality/frozen food we would totally disagree... The food can be seen being prepared and cooked and is worth the price paid.. Thank you George family and staff 👍

I've been visiting Burgau for years now and I always make Esquina one of my stops. It never fails. Excellent authentic food with a contemporary twist. Both cataplanas, the steaks and the portugese cream tart are big stand outs. The staff are superb too; George and the team are an absolute delight and we always feel looked after as well as having a giggle.

The seafood and dessert were amazing! My wife and I had the King Prawn Peri Peri, and it was delicious! Try the Creme Tart!
It is a very friendly spot frequented by a lot of local customers. Worth every penny!

Fantastic food and extremely welcoming staff. We shared the Cataplana and the Tuna steak and I was blown away by both meals. If you’re looking for a authentic and tasty Portuguese meal option in the area I can highly recommend Esquina!

One of my favourite restaurants in Burgau. Excellent food and attentive service with a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. Not too pricey either. I love it.

It is 8 years since I lasted visited, but this place is still amazing. George and his family are so bubbly, friendly and welcoming! And the food is all very tasty. We had a selection of starters, Portuguese steak/prawn pasta/steak with green peppercorns/tuna steak/duck between us and every dish was equally delicious and cooked to our preferences (medium rare for the steaks) to perfection. The dessert are also yum! Thanks once again for a fun evening George.

The best cataplana in the Algarve. It’s thick and super tasty. I recommend the monkfish over the chicken cataplana but both are delicious. I would also recommend the peri peri wings as a starter. The staff and family that run this restaurant are lovely too and really add to the evening.

The food is quite simply exceptional. The service is friendly and overall, Esquina offers outstanding value for money. Two days later I am in Lisbon eating some of the worst food I've ever had the misfortune to be served....now wishing I'd stayed in Burgau for a few more days.

Nice food and friendly service, good for families or couples. Food very good quality, with partially open kitchen. Been a few times and very consistent. Top marks as even kids menu food freshly made (chicken schnitzel) not frozen. My favourite resto in Burgau, recommended.

The best meal in Burgau by far. Have the monkfish and prawn cataplana, it is delicious ! Lovely food, great service, good value.

I had the best steak in my life here! We had no reservation but they were able to fit us in within 30 minutes! Very friendly and genuine staff!

I have eaten here many times and have enjoyed it. If you are in a hurry it can be a bit frustrating. I have yet to have a meal I haven't liked and the owner is always welcoming. Don't sit by the entrance if you have a choice

The seaside town of Burgau has some wonderful restaurants. This is very special. There are some wonderful wines, marvelous service and a delicious menu.
