Praia do Burgau

Really nice place! Water fantastic and not crowded as many other beaches. It's really windy though so you may have some problems with your umbrella flying away! Beach bar (Credit card accepted) is quite expensive but really cool. At least you know what you're paying for.. some water fun available too (only cash)

Beautiful small beach, tons of little restaurants and bars, friendly environment, everything you need in walking distance from the slip, overall perfect holiday destination for a relaxing get away with the option for coastal walks if you're active or just lazy beach days with cocktails on the sunbeds

Stunning beach - soft sand, turquoise water as flat as a pancake and no seaweed!!! (Other beaches we visited further east on the Algarve have a very bad seaweed problem but none here whatsoever). Cute town too with a few nice restaurants and bars. No horrible sports bars, Irish bars or grills here. The only beach town we found on the Algarve that has kept some authenticity and has a special feel about it. Keep it a secret!

Sandy beach, no stones, good for swimming.
Water is cold in late March but if you hang on there for 3 minutes, then you can swim 30 minutes without feeling the cold at the end.
A few parking spots at the beach but if you keep driving and turn left there are more parking spaces.

Beautiful beach in a quaint old fishing village. White sand. Somewhat sheltered from the wind by rock formations on both sides.

My favourite between Lagos and Sagres. Nice little town as well, great to swim.

Great little beach. Much quieter than Praia da Luz, and we have always easily got a spot in the (free) car park which is only a short (~50m) walk away. The water gets quite deep quite quickly which is great - you don’t have to be wading out for ages until you can properly swim.

This is our 'go to' beach. Steep walk but left road has steps at bottom.
