A Barraca

On a delightful Sunday evening, my partner and I stumbled upon charming little restaurant with a breautiful view of the sea. I really enjoyed the food that I simply had to shower the chef with compliments! My absolute favorite was a local specialty (unfortunately, the name escapes me), a kind of polenta and fish that delivered an authentic explosion of flavors! And let's not forget the Octopus salad, hands down the best we've ever had in all of Algarve – it was incredibly fresh and scrumptious. The Pica-pau was a delectable treat, and we wrapped up our dinner with a beautifully prepared vegetarian cabbage dish that was simply exquisite.

Moreover, the restaurant has a nice selection of local wines, creating a perfect pairing with the meal. The ambiance was just right, setting the stage for a truly memorable dining experience. And our waiter? Well, he was like the Portuguese incarnation of Freddy Mercury, adding a touch of charisma and charm to the evening. Muita Obrigada!

Best food in Portugal so far! They were extremely busy but squeezed us in. The staff were very friendly and the food was absolutely brilliant. We had the Golden Bream (pictured) and it was delicious. Highly recommend, crime that it has 4 stars!

Excellent fresh fish served straight from the sea! Six of us ate a variety of food from the menu and we were all blown away. The staff deserve a special mention - super efficient, knowledgeable and very friendly. Our new favourite restaurant in the Algarve! Oh! And the view!

Top meal in this Burgau institution last night. Tasty prawns in a not too spicy Piri Piri sauce. Followed by perfectly cooked and flavoured Chicken Piri Piri. There is a theme here methinks. Washed down with a half bottle of " localish" Alantejo wine and finished with a Portuguese brandy and a complimentary Port. Friendly, attentive and professional waiter. Perfect night

Excellent and fresh fish, the staff is super friendly and the service is quick. We ordered a typical dish called “Cataplana” which was really good and the portion was big. Really positive experience, we will come back!

Cute place with amazing and warm service. The fish was delicious and we could feel the chefs love in the food. They even made us taste a bit of a dish we didn’t order because we were sceptical, and it was so good we regreted not ordering it. Good vibes all the way.

Such a disappointment. This place changed hands a few months ago and it is nowhere near as good as it used to be. Has gone from my favourite fish restaurant to very average and overpriced. Portion sizes were small and the service was average. Definitely will not return.

This place has fresh fish and simply prepared yet excellent food. They begin by showing you the fresh fish of the day on a platter. You see the eyeballs and everything. This was fun for the whole family. We got to see the delicious bounty of the sea that Neptune has given unto us on this summer night. We highly recommend this spot. It also has a great view of the ocean.

Excellent choice. Best lunch we had during our summer holidays in Portugal. Please do not miss the grilled turbot (to share) and the sea view.

The food was amazing, the view was beautiful, and the service was attentive. The Cataplana was my wife's favorite meal of our entire trip. We enjoyed everything about this place. They only take cash, so plan appropriately before your visit.

Great fish restaurant with a view. Simple, very tasty and quick.
We went for a lunch without reservation - you have great view from any table.
Dourada grande was our favourite. Sardinhas were also very good.
