Spice Cottage Salema

Probably the best curry I have eaten in a number of years. Spice level to suit your taste and the correct quantity so that you are not totally bloated when you walk out.

Quiet facade, simple interior, clean. A welcoming team greeted us for lunch. Patiently waiting for the kids order, recommending the dishes to us, we had a fantastic time. Entrees arrived and we loved everything - Cheese Nam, Mango Lassie, Samosa’s were all yummy. Mains arrived after asking if we’re ready for it and again outstanding tastes! The vegetable curry was the best I had in a long time! The Spice Cottage in Salema is a Gem! Thanks & hopefully see you again soon :)

We travel all over the world and this was our second favorite India restaurant! That's very high praise coming from us as we have eaten Indian food all over the world.

This is some of the best food we’ve ever had. My wife had the saag and I had the Afgani. EXTREMELY DELICIOUS!

Good Indian food in a small fishing village. It’s located at a off the road kind of spot but food was fresh, flavorful and spicy! The host was welcoming and the service was fast. One of the better Indian food I’ve eaten in Europe. Butter chicken was a tad too sweet but the garlic naans were a hit, as per my kids feedback. There were plenty vegan options and I enjoyed the mixed vegetable which was good too! Recommend this to anyone craving spicy Punjabi food in algarve area.

We had a fabulous evening at Spice Cottage. Atmosphere is everything when you’re away from home, so we really appreciated our warm welcome and attentive waiters. We chose from the “specialities” offered on the menu and were well rewarded with truly special dishes. Our meals were full of flavour, with a perfect balance of spice and heat. Your beers were perfect complement to our meals.

A very pleasant Indian restaurant. Salema can be congested so it is good that the restaurant is close to a large carpark. The seating is very comfortable and the staff are prompt and helpful . The menu has all the typical 'favourites' but also some regional dishes, especially from Punjab. There was a wide choice and many vegetarian options too. We were able to enjoy 4 dishes that we had never had before and they were excellent.
The price was reasonable and the portions generous. The restaurant was very clean, as were the bathrooms. We will be back!

Really yummy Indian restaurant tucked away in cute and quiet Salema. Our curry had great depth of flavor and the naan and rice were also excellent! Reasonably priced and pretty sizable portions - we had leftovers. Veggie samosas some of the best I’ve had, the right ratio of stuffing to pastry. We did takeout and it was super quick, ready in 25 minutes, welcoming customer service. Highly recommend!

Food was excellent! We had the pickle tray with poppadom (great starter), then the makhani masala with jasmine rice and naan. The house wine was lovely. Service was excellent! We will be back!!!

Who knew in the village of Salema an Indian treasure could be found. I will be eating here time and again as the food is the best Indian cuisine I’ve had. The family that runs it was so nice and helpful. But the real star was the food, everything we ate was spectacular.

We would give the service 10 stars if possible. The entire staff was pleasant, helpful and smiling.
Food was excellent it came perfectly spiced as ordered. Plenty of options for both vegetarians and meat eaters.
If we lived here we would visit on a regular basis.

A lovely new air conditioned restaurant which is spacious and welcoming. Having ordered our food which is made from scratch to any strength that suits your taste buds! There were six of us all with different strength sauces and everyone thoroughly enjoyed from very mild to hot! Food was delicious and service very good. 10/10 from me, will definitely be back. Lovely tasty curries, perfectly spiced. Nice and cosy atmosphere and impecable service. They could sure give some of the other local restaurants some training on customer care!

Loved it! Very good Indian restaurant. Choose your dish then choose how spicy you want it. Of course! Why doesn't every Indian restaurant do that? Great cooking, friendly welcome, excellent drinks menu. Highly recommended.

Such a lovely authentic place with more than lovely people! Starting with a great guidance to your best meal and also your personal spice level down to a great smile from everyone in the team and for sure the best Indian food I’ve ever ate so far (also tasted some very good Indian food in GB!)

Friends took us here for the first time. While The Algarve has some fine Indian restaurants, the cuisine at Spice Cottage was in a class by itself.
