This is a big church in central Horta, in some place between the harbour and Praia do Prim. The church vault above the sacristy has murals with the coat of arms of a dozen distinguished families of old Horta. Between them the family of the Flemish who colonised first the island and gave Horta its name. The square in front of the church has nice stonework, the kind of "calchada", in black and white.

Amazing church. Didn't see any tourist there, although this is absolutely my favorite church in whole Horta.

Berço de minha família, descendo de Manuel Gonçalves Correia, o "Burgão". Aqui no Brasil inúmeras famílias descendem das "TRÊS ILHOAS", pra mim é um grande orgulho. Um dia vou aos Açores conhecer nosso berço. Saudações.

Foi o local onde fui criado. Fui sacristão, andei na catequese, fiz a 1a e comunhão solene, foi onde também andei na escola, etc
