Hotel Horta

We stayed on the 4th floor for 4 nights. The rooms are very clean and the water for showering was fine. Our view was amazing in so that we routinely enjoyed a bottle of wine on our balcony in the evenings. All of the staff we interacted with were very friendly and accommodating. We also booked tours through them with locals that were very colorful and informative. It's also a short walk to everywhere!

Great views clean up scale room

Although the interior is not brand new, I think, paired with the amazing and super friendly staff, it just adds to the charm. The rooms are spacious (huge beds) and impeccably clean, and all have their own private balcony facing Pico!
My favorite however was the food. Breakfast and evening buffet were simply fantastic, serving regional/Portuguese cuisine for dinner. I never had reason to eat out.
Also, reading up on other reviews, I didn't have any issue with the shower whatsoever. And yes, the mattresses were very firm and I had no trouble sleeping on them foe the whole week. But then again I would not expect any hotel to have an individually tailored mattress for each and every single guest with back issues. I mean, seriously?

This place isn’t perfect, but I dare you to find a view this gorgeous at this price anywhere else in the world. The free breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I had in the Azores (for free, it had a lot of options and even included a make your own crepe station).

Yes, the rooms are old, and the AC doesn’t work super well, but the staff are helpful and friendly, the bar is a great place to grab a drink, and (most importantly) the WiFi actually works. As in, you can be in your room and the connection is strong enough to upload your vacation photos. This is not a given in the Azores!

Lovely hotel, great location with excellent views. A nice swimming pool. Friendly and very helpful staff. Excellent value for money. Horta also has some very good restaurants. 👍🏼

If you're staying here, stay on an upper floor. The view is terrific, there's less chance of bugs (which are common, to be honest) when you're above grade. The restaurant and tiny bar are very cute. We would stay here again.

Just checked in Great room and spotlessly clean. An excellent view of Pico island from our balcony. Very courteous and helpful staff.

Amazing food and service. The rooms were clean but we couldnt go to the swimming pool. The desserts and all were just wonderful!!!
