Really cool spot with lots of history. Their house Gin + Tonic was definitely a highlight. The food was very yummy and nice spot to sit and relax. We had the barracuda as a fish of the day and it was massive! Almost couldn’t finish it. Also the mix grill skewer looked very cool so we had to try that too. The limpets were the best we had!
We went during the low season but there were still larger tour groups dropping by. So I could see how it could get a little hectic!

Must visit location. Reservations are recommended, but if you're popping in for a quick visit the may let you use a table before a reservation arrives if you're quick about it (just a drink and apps). Friendly staff and easy service. Got a cheese dish and a gin cocktail.

Went here on a cold, blusterous day. It has an old world charm to it. It's not hard to imagine sitting here a 100 years ago. The crew was very attentive to my needs. I was allowed to bring in my service dog. I ordered the sailor's pot roast. It's a pork pot roast with mashed potatoes. It's a hardy, filling meal and did me well with the cold weather outside. It had a delicious, unique taste to it. I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal, rather than something I ordered in a restaurant. I finished with the coconut pudding and an Expresso. I will definitely eat here again. Thanks for a great experience.

Food was good.
The waitress was great. She was interacting with my 3 year old niece and keeping her entertained.
I liked seeing all of the flags and signs from different boats that have stopped there.
Got to see the famous place in person. Some of the people in and around the cafe look like they've been at sea for weeks.
There is a gift shop next door and a scrimshaw museum upstairs as well. If you're in Faial, it's a must stop, even if it's just to take some pictures.

Incredible sailors cafe restaurant with a possibility to send postcards as well. The atmosphere and the vibe of the place itself makes it one of the must see things in Horta. They have a very famous gin and tonic which you need a lot to get drunk but still the taste is very good. Every kind of meat you get will be pure Azores cow so it will definitely be good and the one with land on its name was the best in my opinion. Suggesting this place %100

I loved the chocolate cake with ice cream and also the tuna steak was the best I ever had.
The cafe is always busy, but we were lucky to get a Table without waiting. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for the food but its worth it! There is a Lot to discover while sitting in the cafe

Great place when you can have drink and food.ii didn't order food,all table was busy.But I try Gyn ,here very famous.Taste was good.

This place you really have to go, drink some gin... And a few more. Eat some fantastic sea food , drink some more gin 😄

Amazing experience while eating indoors.
Truly they have the best Gin in the world.
If you go there ask for Gin do Mar.

The octopus was a little bit extra salty but other than that everything was fine.

Amazing place. I've been to 6 Azorean islands and this is my favourite place so far. The number one of the house is the Peter Gyn drinks. The Gin-Gan-Go is delicious if you prefer something without gin tonic. To eat, the creamy garlic bread is a good option to start. The fish soup is also good. The atmosphere is really cool.

Do not miss to eat here. 20-30 minutes needed to have a table, but the athmosphere, the staff and the food was also amazing. Try the gin! Wait for a table inside and search the flags on my pictures ;) we were in a rush for the ferry, but the steak came in 15 minutes and it was top 5 steak of my life.

Probably the best restaurant in Faial!!!
The prices are low, the fish and seafood are incredibly fresh! The ambience is really cool. And old sailors pub full of sea flags.
The shrimp and calamari is an spectacle. The octopus is really good as well!
It's always crowdy so it might be good to reserve!

The land steak and a gin could be a perceft choice, I was satisfied 100%!

We eat very well, the atmosphere is nice, I totally recommend it.

I tried both meat (sirlion) and fish (codfish). I recommend also the cooked cheese with olives.

Only went in to see the famous bar and, of course, have a gin tonic. Being a big fan of gin tonics, I tried multiple ones, while being on the island, and Peter's didn't disappoint (neither did the others). Rustique interior and friendly staff, and decent prices (3€ for a G&T).

They took our names and we sipped Gin do Mars while waiting a quick 20 minutes l to be seated. No part of our meal was rushed other than our drink needs (travel decompression). There is a good reason they "own" the block.

Show up early enough and enjoy yourself.

Lively spot for lunch or dinner, great seafood and a terrace outside perfect for afternoon/evening beers and bites. Brilliant service from the hilarious, gregarious staff. Selection of beers on tap. Good for groups. Full to the brim with memorabilia and history - check out the historic map of undersea cables.
