This is a must see art experience on the island with paintings from the ships that made the journey before us. I loved the sense of humor on many as well as the artistic talent.

Beautiful island, green with sweet hills. And the marina is full of sailing boats doing a stop during their transat (well, like us).
Crews do some painting everywhere. It is a must do for them.

Horta marina is one of the most visited in the world and I think is the most colourful. Here all the visiting sailors decorate the harbour walls with their personal paintings making it a lovely exhibition. Also you feel the good vibes of a town surrounded by whales and sailors.

Amazing to see the main sailboats on their stopover during the atlantic crossing. Main painitings/ graffiti on the harbour walls document all the boats which stopped over. Really cool! Def worth a visit during your stay on Faial island

Interesting place with some history there, including the telegram cables.
Peter seams to own a lot, including at the airport.
A short walk found us at a small beach the other side of the headland and brilliant restaurants. Athletico was the best place we eat, buzing atmosphere, but not much view. They have done will with the out sidw seating area.
Lots to do around this area.

The biggest marina at athores, greate security, easy to park your yacht, wc and shower it's big and clean, has WiFi, and good cafe around, also close to market and city center.
