Hospitality the best. staff was amazing. Louis took good care of us anything we asked. Always recommended interesting spots to see and restaurants that were close by and always excellent.
We both had two massages and face treatments with Alazia s.p.? that were excellent. Enjoyed the spa, walks along the water and the bountiful breakfasts . Will definitely return and recommend this hotel to friends.
One Flaw . I would recommend you have a few rooms with walk in showers. the tubs where slippery and to high for older people to manage safely.

5*, yet modern design made me feel cold. Service was wonderful for the most part, but the modern design wasn't soothing to me. Desk staff did brink our luggage promptly to the room, but I did not notice staff showing us the lighting design for safety & comfort overnight. First few nights, we either had total darkness to get to the bathroom or left ALL the lights on, which was too bright. Maybe it not an European feature, but no exhaust fan in an open design area doesn't "smell " romance! Please install exhaust fans or provide scent control! The openness of the bathroom was just too much sharing even with the privacy screen. NO SAFETY HANDLEs anywhere in the bathroom is very very concerning. a person at any age could slip & have nothing to steady themselves. Nothing to maintain balance while washing the bottom of the other foot. You get the idea??
Gorgeous views oceanview side. Cant say enough. Would hope hotel staff would put a little more effort in explaining the TV entertainment to out of the country guests! A list of channels avail in which language would be helpful.
Restaurant was very nice! The morning display looked quite extensive, but repeating after 2 days. Need something special each day..0melet station, offering 3 types of dry cereal is still just 3 cereal choices each day!!
They offered live entertainment 3 evenings somewhere in the hotel. Not well promoted by staff, even just mentioning it the lobby would get people aware. Hotel didn't offer a directory or anything promoting its amenities like the spa or game room? OR what could be found near by?
Mattress was very comfortable!! As eere the linens. Room could use a second chair for dining..just coffee & pastry. Oh, a place to access fresh pastry to go enjoy on the balcony would be very welcome!!

Hotel Verde Mar in Ribeira Grande, Azores, is a stunning oceanfront hotel. Modern rooms offer breathtaking views, and the excellent breakfast satisfies every palate. The staff is friendly and accommodating, ensuring a memorable stay by the sea.

It was a great stay. We stayed for 10 days and were very happy with the rooms, pools and the friendly staff.

The only thing which was not perfect was the food. There was not much of a choice, so after a few days we repaetedly ate the same dinner over and over again. But the dinner which was offered was very good.

Overall a wonderful stay. The front desk staff were so wonderfully nice and accommodating. We had a couple of issues with our rooms, first a water damaged ceiling issue they told us about and gave us option to stay or move (damage wasn't that noticeable) but they moved us to another room with terrace. Then the Jacuzzi tub didn't work. They promptly sent someone to look at it but it's wasn't fixable without parts. The front desk sent us a fruit basket along with a very nice apologia note.
The ocean views was incredible, it''s ocean front but the black sand beach is about a 2 min walk. There is a big grocery store across the street. Several restaurants within walking distance.
We had dinner there our first night and food was pretty good.
The spa was ok. The indoor "heated" pool was pretty chilly and the sauna was only working "sometimes". We didn't have a treatment but the rooms were nice and had two for couples.
We left early for our flight so they made us to-go bags.
The only thing I would fix would be the breakfast staff. There was only one young man that was incredibly pleasant, everyone else was a bit cold. They all seemed unhappy to be there.

We loved this hotel and had a spectacular experience! We stayed in a room next to the pool deck with a private terrace and ocean views, and could not have been happier. The spa facilities and heated indoor pool were satisfying, and the breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations. Great location walking distance to the town center, and very close to the beach. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Sao Miguel.

Hotel very clean. Lots of amenities. Staff go above and beyond. Ocean view is exceptional. Great location. Great value. Easy parking. Pools and saunas/steam rooms are impeccable! A fantastic location for getting to anywhere on the island. Staff even had a breakfast to go prepared for us as we had to leave earlier than the prepared breakfast time! Will definitely stay here again!

Nice location, our suite was clean and spacious, with beautiful views of the ocean. It had nice amenities, friendly staff and for the majority of travelers it checks all the boxes, but to describe it as a "5 star hotel" is an exaggeration. Parking was easy and it was across the street from a supermarket which was very convenient and a huge plus.

We spent 4 nights in this hotel. Service was spectacular, rooms were nice, roomy and comfortable with a beautiful beach view. Breakfast was great with enough options to please most palates. Nice pool area to relax. Walking distance to downtown, restaurants and a nice grocery store across the street

I Can’t say enough good things about our stay here! Everything was perfect. The people were so friendly and helpful. Everything was well thought out and clean. The view is amazing. The restaurant and bar served some of the best food and drinks on the island! Special shout-out to our server Tatiana who always went above and beyond. We can’t wait to come back.

Stayed here for a week with my fiancé and my parents. I have stayed other places in Sao Miguel but they all pale in comparison, there is nothing bad that can be said about this hotel the best bang for your buck by far! A big thank you to (I am not very good at spelling names) Louis Silva and Joel Capbral amazing customer service anytime of day! Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking!❤❤👍

The most friendly staff, and the continental breakfast is AMAZING! lactose free/gluten free options, soy milk, etc. Lots to choose from and so yummy! Rooms are great too! Restaurant service is slowwwww but I think that's a European thing that I'm not used to. Expect to stay 2 hours for dinner. Loved that they had a "Vegan" meal of the day. Mine was a tofu kabob with veggies, side salad and fries, and a vegan dessert: Orange cake with almond custard - very yummy!

We had a great stay here and the staff were amazing but one thing that made me give 4 star for the service was the number of employees in any given time. It felt like the place was somehow under staffed but overall it is one of the top places to stay in the Island. The buffet breakfast is very complete and probably one of the very good ones in all Island.

Every time I come to Sao Miguel, I always stay here. There is no better, simple as that! Rooms are modern and clean, come with usb charger outlets,(Hard to find at other hotels),incredible ocean view. The free breakfast every morning is delicious and fresh, quite a wide spread of variety too! The indoor heated pool with sauna, gym and spa is a great way to end the day from sight seeing before going to the bar/dinning area. Every employee is so kind, friendly and very professional, but Ruben on the other hand goes the extra mile to make your dinning experience that much more special and romantic with your partner. He is so precise and so well mannered, hard to come by these days, you can tell he does it with a passion too. Best dining experience I’d have to say in my life for the view, how well we were treated and the taste of the food. Prices are reasonable for what you get. Excellent cocktails by Tatiana at the bar, friendly. Felt safe here with my car at all times. Centrally located on the island, felt safe walking from the hotel to anywhere within RG. As much as I don’t want to post this, so this gem of a hotel doesn’t get discovered I feel that an
excellent experience shouldn’t go unnoticed.

Portuguese hospitality at its best! Very kind staff and everything was good during my stay. The location was the highlight for me, the beach was only steps away from the hotel, and it was very central to all of the important locations around São Miguel. I recommend staying here.

We stayed at Verde Mar Spa in September 2022. We found the accommodations and the staff exceptional. Our room was spotless and the cleaning staff was very cheerful, even though there was a language barrier. The front desk staff was outstanding… going out of there way to suggest excursions and making reservations for us. The breakfast buffet was diverse and the staff made sure it was clean. They also refilled items promptly. The only part of breakfast we didn’t love was coffee from a machine, but it could be overlooked given the quality of the experience. The pool area is to die for! Kept at room temperature, it is very comfortable and relaxing. If we come back to Sao Miguel, we will be staying here again. It was the best hotel experience we’ve ever had!

Top of the line hotel, spend new years at hotel verde mar ,I had a great time, looking forward to do it every year, exelente room, service, and location.

The hotel is awesome. Great view on the Ocean. The staff is very nice and the hotel bar has some awesome signature cocktails.

My favorite hotel in the Azores. The staff here and the accommodation are Great! The front desk staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made my stay very comfortable. I had an extra guest last minute and they accommodated an extra setting since the island and hotel were totally booked that week. The restaurant and live music made the place even more comfortable.
