Salto do Cagarrão Waterfall

Worth the extra hike ! Way better than salto do Prego waterfall. Additional 2 km each way and fairly steep at parts but so worth it. We were there solo for 30 minutes and got to skinny dip before the next people showed up. You won’t regret it!

A nice hike to a waterfall with a pool to swim in. Somewhat steep at times but pretty moderate.

Very nice hike, when I planned this hike I created a gpx file using alltrails and it should have been about 7-8 round trip, but as things turned out my garmin watch showed that it was 7km only to reach the second waterfall i.e. Cagarro. Since it became too long for us to do all the way back, we went back about one km and then took a small path to the road outside the park and got a hitchhike with nice tourists back to our parking. BTW water is pretty cold so for us it is really hard to get in :-)

Very good spot to hike to with a medium level hike where you need good shoes. The view of the waterfall is worth it

Beautiful waterfall.
We got there from Faial da Terra/Sanguinho trail and it takes about 1h more from Salto do Prego waterfall. Doable even on a midly rainy day but a bit slippery.

Very nice place and definitely worth the risk of climbing down the path towards the waterfall!

Toller Wanderweg. Bis zum ersten Wasserfall Salto do Cagarrao sind es ca 1 Stunde.
Der Weg ist schon etwas herausfordernd aber sehr schön.

Piękny, mroczny wodospad spadający skalną ścianą w małej ciemnej dolince. Najdogodniejsze dojście od północnej strony szlakiem PR11. Idzie się pięknym szlakiem około 1,5 h marszu. Szlak praktycznie bez widoków, za to prowadzi gęstym, ciemnym lasem, przypominającym lasy tropikalne. Po drodze ruiny młyna wodnego.

Der Wasserfall ist schön und ist ganz weit unten, eingeschlossen von Felsen. Allerdings ist der Weg dorthin wirklich herausfordernd und man sollte eine gute Kondition haben und trittfest sein. Auf dem Weg dorthin sieht man viele Hähne und einige Hühner. Der Weg ist sehr gut beschildert.

Attention : chemin assez escarpé et compliqué, surtout si arrivez de Faial Da Terra (être très prudent, surtout en cas de pluie).

Merece la pena hacer la ruta de Salto de Prego con la subida hasta salto de Cagarrão,nos costó 3 horas hacerlas sin encontrarnos con casi gente

Spektakulärer Wasserfall. Die Tour ist nichts für wirkliche Anfänger, besonders zum Ende sollte man etwas trittsicherer sein, aber im Grunde gut machbar. Man wird dafür echt belohnt, in einem kleinen Tal mit einem mega Anblick!

Merece la pena llegar hasta esta cascada, no hay foto que enseñe lo realmente bonita que es la zona que la envuelve.

Una cascada preciosa y la ruta para llegar es asequible. Estamos fascinados 😍

Prévoyez des chaussures de randonnées imperméables car vous passerez dans des sentiers au milieu d'une jungle et ces sentiers sont très boueux mais la cascade vaut le détour.
Il faut environ 1h pour l'atteindre depuis la première cascade.
