This restaurant offers probably the finest dining in Horta. We had main courses of fish, chicken and spare ribs. The fish and chicken were perfect. The pork could have been a little softer. The potato that accompanied the ribs was so yummy. The place compares successfully to the best restaurants we went to in Lisbon. Very decent choice of wines and concise, precises and quick service.

Amazing experience, thank you. It was not only tasty, but we also tried new food interpretations like cocoa puree or sauce with zest.

Everything was great. We loved the food, it was very friendly and fast service, a big variety of food options with vegetarian and vegan dishes. The prices are absolutely justified and reasonable. Highly recommend 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? We went here on our honeymoon vacation and everything was EXCELLENT! I told the waiter that the only things in life that I have no regrets on in life is “Marrying my husband and coming to his restaurant” I’m not sure if he was the waiter or the owner but this man deserves a raise and business either way. The hospitality and food is unmatched. BEST MEAL IVE HAD IN THE AZORES. And we have been dining in the “best of the best.” We were at another restaurant waiting to be seated that was supposed to be the “best” but I can tell you FOR SURE that this is a hidden gem of the island and you’d be silly to miss it. Go here! I hope for a long loving marriage but I also hope to come back here! Thanks for having us! We love you! Be back soon!!! :) love always, Marie & Riggs

Also I forgot the prices are the best on this island. Even if they aren’t, it’s the only restaurant worth $$$ here!

PS! This man was so attentive! No reservations and no waiting!! Only efficiency here!!!

Excellent food, reasonable prices. We had 4 different dishes, each of which was really good: Chicken, fish, spareribs, and veggie, based on cauliflower and red lentils. Portions are not too big, but sufficient. You should also try the chocolate cake/ coffee icecream dessert.

A surprisingly excellent meal - combinations are really creative and work with local and seasonal ingredients. Personally I can particularly recommend the Pexe Coco. Probably the best dinner I had in Faial.

Absolutely phenomenal meal. We had the sous vide chicken and my spouse had the fish special which she raved about. Very reasonably priced especially considering how tasty it was.

Excellent food served in large portions. I shared a belingera pink Floyd as a starter and had a peixe verão as a main dish. The staff is very professional and nice.

Wonderful and excellent service!

We loved everything we ate and recommend the gazpacho and the black tea cream cake. My wife had the cauliflower steak and it was amazing and I loved my coconut fish.

All local ingredients too!

First night in Horta and came here based on google reviews and it’s just behind our hotel. Did not disappoint.
Fish if the day was parrot fish which we go with coconut and rustico. It’s a lot of coconut, so just be forewarned. Fish had a bit too much salt but the coconut offset it.
We also had the beetroot soup w/blue cheese which I enjoyed
Dessert was black tea ice cream…must have! Great way to end the meal.
Was happy with the atMosphere. There was only one server but it’s a smaller restaurant and he was very friendly

Pictures speak for themselves.

From the nice decor to the friendly service to the exceptional food, this place certainly felt like a michelin star restaurant with good portions.

The ingredient comibnation was just amazing at every level.

Coconut fish is definitely a must try. The pomegranates and the pineapple created that sweetness that balanced out everything.

Octupus salad had wasabi cabbage slaw with roased brocoli and caviar.

Lentil roasted cauliflower with toasted almonds was one of the best vegetarian dishes I had

Best restaurant we've been to on our two week trip. The food and service were amazing and the prices very reasonable. We would recommend this as a first stop to anyone visiting Horta.

Cozy restaurant with less than 20 tables located close to the harbour. We had the gazpacho, the daily catch fish with rice and grilled veggies and the Azores tea ice-cream tart and we couldn't be more satisfied. If you are looking honest cookery this is your place. The chef definitely knows ingredients and flavours and all dishes reflected humble approach and the love of cookery.
The service was also extraordinary, both waiters spoke perfect English and were really friendly but not pushy at all.
So highly recommend! Definitely coming back.

The best meal we had on Faial - and not the most expensive. A short walk from the harbor. Everything fresh and elegantly prepared and plated. Wish we would have eaten here multiple times. Rare to find food this thoughtfully executed in the azores.

I would return to the Azores just to eat here again! This restaurant is an excellent, high-value example of local ingredients and cuisine executed in a global culinary weight class.

The restaurant calls itself a gastro bar and the menu is quite innovative. It's also a very popular restaurant and I'm glad we got there when they opened as people were being turned away shortly after. My husband ordered parrot fish with coconut puree and bacon, and he sopped up every bit of that coconut puree! I opted for 2 appetizers – a cold soup with orange and almonds and then a garlicky shrimp appetizer. My husband was disappointed that they didn't have black tea ice cream cake for dessert, but he had some of the wonderful Azorean pineapple instead.

Fantastic food at a very reasonable price point! Great wine and drinks selection that are also reasonably priced. The menu seems to be seasonal so if you view it online make sure you see the most recent one!
