Azores Experiences - Whale Watching & Jeep Tours

I could just repeat what others said. Pedro and his crew really made it fun and informative. We did see a lot of whales and dolphins. Just luck of the draw. Pedro is extremely respectful about his proximity to the whales and sea animals. So do not expect a cowboy taking up on top of the creatures. He will do the best he can to get you to what you want to see without endangering anyone or any creature.

Pedro and his crew were amazing. On the day we went the conditions and spottings weren’t ideal to have sightings. Pedro set the expectations that he didn’t know if we would actually see any whales and gave options to go, reschedule or cancel. We decided to go ahead as we just love to be on the water. So glad we did, not only did We see whales , but we also saw dolphins and sea turtles. Marta was. Knowledgeable about all the animals, if you are ever on Faial , go see Pedro and book a whale watch with Pedro, you won’t be disappointed

AMAZING tour! Pedro is so passionate about whales and has such a fun personality that really keeps the tour lively! Marta was very friendly and educational. The whales were majestic and the dolphins put on such a show, it was quite magical! We then took the “gastronomy tour” which had tasty food with great company. Our driver was so nice and really went above and beyond for us! These are the tours that really make our vacations!!

I had a full day tour of Faial on last sunday. I liked it so much, it was above my expectations. Driver - guide Leandro was exceptional. Cant find enough words to recomend this tour. I paid 109 euros but the money was invested very well. This all day tour made Faial a favorite azores island for me.

Great experience.
We saw sperm whale, blue whale and common dolphins.
The guides were all amazing, and the captain was very experienced and spot the whales before other boats.

Leandro was a wonderful guide for our full day Faial tour. He was so knowledge and passionate about giving us a good experience. Excellent choice of lunch - buffet including drinks and coffee at Campo dos Sabores golf club.

We went on a really great full day jeep tour with Hugo! He tailored the stops to the weather and our interests, and was very fun to talk to about Portuguese and Azorean history.

Great way to see the tourist highlights of Faial on a tight schedule, and to understand the Azores from a local perspective.

Had a great time with Pedro, Marta and the rest of the crew. They themselves were really excited to see a male sperm whale and waited out on the see longer than the other boats on the chance for it to come up once again. And their intuition was right as we got another chance to see this magnificent animal.

The equipment we got, protective pants and jackets as well as rescue vests seemed to be in good condition.

Would definitely do it again!

Pedro and Marta are very passionate about the ocean and all sea creatures. And they make sure that you have the best experience out there... I recommend a 1000%!

Marta and Pedro were amazing tour guides who enthusiastically talked about whales, dolphins and the area around us during the entire 4 hour trip. We were the first ones to leave the harbour and the last ones to get back. They were also extremely respectful of the animals and nature itself, and made sure to gave the animals plenty of space at all times. They clearly do this for the love of the animals and everything else is secondary.

If I would live on Faial or would have stayed longer, I would have gladly rejoined them on a trip several times, and if I ever come back, this is the first thing that will go to the top of the bucket list.

Animals before business. This is a moto that could illustrate Pedro and his team’s philosophy. We took a private day trip. It worth the investment as we could see much more animals than what we could expect : sei whales, sperm whales (breaching !!!), playful false killer whales, bottlenose whales, turtle, spotted dolphin, striped dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, shearwaters. Thanks for the amazing day.

Pedro and Marta were amazing guides during our experience. They helped us understand and learn about the whales before and during the boat ride. We saw so many whales, so amazing!! Thank you for this wonderful experience .

Would 100% recommend this company for a whale watching tour. We saw several dolphins and a Sei whale. But the best part was the lovely skipper and guides who provided us with a lot of interesting facts about the whales and dolphins in the Azores. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour!

Best experience (whale watching) of our holidays! We were lucky (or is it really Pedro's maths? Or instinct? ) to see a lot of whales and dolphins.

We tried swim with the dolphins on Sao Miguel with another provider, but this is way better. Here you can watch the dolphins for several minutes. Whereas with 'swim with' they dive down as soon someone gets in the water and you just get to hear them.

We can’t rate this company high enough. We had a full day jeep tour with Hugo including an outstanding lunch. Hugo was a fantastic guide, extremely knowledgeable and always on hand to answer any questions we had. We loved our day so much! We also went on a whale & dolphin trip with Pedro and Maria. This was incredible! The 2 days spent with Azores experiences were highlights of our trip. We can’t wait to visit you guys again. Thanks so much for everything.

We went on a whale watching tour with Pedro, Marta and Elena, and we had an amazing time - Marta was super knowledgeable and Pedro was extremely helpful when I got a bit seasick. We would definitely recommend taking a tour with them!

We had a fantastic experience in Faial with the team of Azores Experiences. We did a whale and dolphin watching tour and we had the opportunity to see multiple species of dolphins and multiple sightings of a sperm whale. It was an unforgettable experience. We particularly appreciated that the team was very knowledgeable, professional and very respectful of the sea life and animals wellbeing. The crew was also super fun and made sure that everybody enjoyed the time with them. We highly recommend this company!

We did a whale watching with Açores Expiriences and it was stunning! Marta and Pedro did an amazing job, we felt very comfortable during the whole trip. Totally recomended

Whale watching with azores experiences is a must. It was so convincing that I must have gone out 6 times. A super team, friendly, humorous and answering all questions. Even while waiting for the whales, there was valuable information and learning units. There were always 3 of the crew supporting on the boat. Marine biologists, etc. and who would like to support sustainable tourism is in very good hands with Pedro. He is one of the few, maybe the only one, who leaves the whales or dolphins alone after 15 minutes and drives to other spots instead of harassing them for 2 hours. As soon as he notices that the animals behave stressed the escort is interrupted. Very cool! The whale watching is also used to fish plastic and other pollution from the sea on the way and dispose it on land.
I am deeply impressed by the passion of all involved. Thank you very much for these wonderful experiences with so many whales, dolphins and turtles.
