Nice little restaurant with good food and good service. Steak tartar and tuna carpaccio was really good. The limpets were also better than any other I’ve had. Fancy restaurant, we went with a bunch of kids and everyone was cool about it, but probably better to go without kids next time.

We came in after trying to hike a popular location nearby (the weather was awful.) Definitely not a place to typically come into dressed for a hike. It’s high end. That being said, they didn’t judge us and served us like any other customer. Wow! The food is mind blowing here. Probably the best we’ve had on the island. We shared several appetizers and a tuna dish. Absolutely amazing. The atmosphere. The food. The wine. 10/10.

What an a great experience. The waiter and waitress are very nice and extremely helpful. We have fish soups, mushrooms with garlic, large ham board, tuna steak, grill octopus, snapper. Everything is very good, very delicious, and fresh. You have to try this restaurant if you come over to this island.

Stopped by for dinner. Looking for a good meal away from the usual tourist attractions and boy did this spot deliver. The place was busy right up to close on a weeknight! Ordered the tuna pate, garlic bread, octopus, Brazilian steak and a lime cheesecake. Everything was spectacular. The service was great, the waitstaff was very helpful and courteous. We will definitely be back, a can’t miss spot!

We came with a group of almost 20 people. Best food on the island - all different meals were amazing. Fresh fish, local beef, delicious wine. Extremely nice service. We had the best time! Thank you!

Impecabel experience. Everything is well thought and made. From the simple to the complex. The space, the quality of the tabelware, the attention to detail. The fish soup was 5 stars.

Had the tuna “pate”, fish soup and the prawns stew - all of them excellent! The place is tucked away in this…village? but the culinary experience is definitely way above the location! Most expensive diner we had, but maybe the best. Missing some outdoor seating but this a common thing in Azores. Fast, friendly and professional service. 200 characters yet?? 😊😊

We have been to Saca-Rolhas Taberna twice and it was amazing 🤩 At our first visit we had the tempura shrimps as a starter and the sliced tuna for the main course with a local white wine from the island Pico “Frei Gigante” - very tasty 👌🏻
At the second visit we tried the fish soup as a starter and local sliced beef (perfect!!!) and the squid with tomato rice for the main course, absolutely delicious! The owner is very kind and also the service team is great. We felt very comfortable at this place.

Amazing meal, best on the island. We had the fish soup, garlic bread, garlic shrimp, wreck fish with fish rice. It was so so so good. So glad we found this place, DO NOT MISS THIS. Need to make a reservation by calling FYI

Oeh, gotta have the wines! (Don’t forget the Ruinart Blanc des Blancs, the oldest champagne house with the most elegant champagne there is, yes way more elegant than the Christal or the Dom Perignon that they serve. Alternatively choose the Krug)

At the beginning you will be surprised by the absence of a traditional paper menu. Do not be discouraged, from appetizer to dessert, the food was special league of gastronomy. An explosion of excellent taste.

First reason for people to go to Azores is seldomly gastronomy, but for who likes a moment of gastronomy with truly great local food in a very nice and cosy athmosphere, this definitely is the place to be! We even went back the same week :)

Solid. I ordered the squid and it was great. The sauce they put on top was excellent.

They have an extensive paper menu with photos of the fish, which helps quite a bit, but makes the decision that much more difficult.

I would definitely visit for dinner more than once.

Best dinner my wife and I had during our stay in the Azores (across two islands). I had the seared tuna and my wife had the steak skewer. Both cooked to perfection and the sides were amazing as well. Definitely worth the price. Service and atmosphere were also excellent. Highly recommend.

Brilliant seafood. Very nice staff. Not cheap - but can't compare to other prices on the island yet.

Absolutely delicious! We got the tuna tartare, grilled limpets, fish of the day, steak, and a passion fruit cheesecake.

A ton of food, if we could change our order, we’d only do one appetizer and entree. Everything was delicious though. Passion fruit cheesecake is a must.
