My boyfriend and I tried 5 restaurants in town and each time we would try grilled fish. I would have to say this restaurant had the Best grilled fish!!! The flavor was spectacular not too buttery, grilled to the right amount of crisp and most importantly all the dishes were superb. I had the “whiting fish.” Would also recommend the “salted mussels” and a cheese platter to start. It’s a local setting and doesn’t try too hard nor is it over hyped. Highly highly highly recommend!!

This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Fresh fish and local seafood delicacies, great variety of wine and the best one from Pico island, recommended by the helpful waiter, amazing starters and desserts. Make sure to book a table in advance as the restaurant is really busy.

Best restaurant in Lagoa area! The fish is incredibly fresh and tasty and the portions are generously big!
For starters don't miss the mussels or the limpets.
There's plenty of fish options and all of them come with boiled potatoes, boiled sweet potatoes and vegetables!
The desserts are also very good and home made (there is also frozen desserts but spare them), try the passion fruit or pineapple mousse!
A must in the area!

Food is delicious. We had grilled limpets, mixed sausages and mixed fish. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommended if you’re in Lagoa.

We came here by recommendation of local people. We really liked grilled mussels and desserts like pineapple mousse. There is also a half portion for almost all the menus which can be a good option to share some dishes.

Fresh fish and cheap price, it can't get any better than this! Remember that it's a typical rustic place, therefore don't expect the service to be quick and always attentive; just relax, get a glass of wine and enjoy the experience! (The choupa was amazing!)

A really pleasant surprise. Unplanned visit. When we arrived a bit early for lunch, the pleasant waiter put some bread and tasty nibbles on our table, no charge. He recommended the fish sampler, 2 for the 4 of us, we got 6 different grilled fishes and some veggies. Excellent! Desserts were amazing. The final bill was very reasonable. Restaurant was packed by the time we left - the word is out. Will make a point of going back next time in town. Our favorite on the island.Highly recommend.

A nice place, crowded, good food, friendly waiters but you need to get their attention several times. A family business. Come before 19.45 or make a reservation.

Huge variety of fish and kind and prepared staff. The place is not very big so it is better to book in advance. Otherwise be prepared to wait for a while but time will be well spent. Without reservation don't go there before 2130

Yes, recommend this place. Why? Well: fresh fish, well prepared. Meat was very good. And the sizes werevmore than good. Mostly local people visiting this place wich i think is a plus. Friendly service. Well go there again.

Our AirBnB host recommended this place. On the water in Lagoa. Parking nearby but narrow local streets to get here.

Hostess spoke English, seated us immediately, brought out bread and water and wine pretty quick. Did take a while to come back for our order, but we enjoyed the wine and outdoor ambiance.

Ordered grilled limpets, blackfish, shrimp—all were excellent esp the fish. Others in our party had the hamburger and steak, they both loved it, and my kid had chicken fingers which he loved as well and ate it up.

Overall great lunch. Very affordable. Just took awhile which really seems to be every place we went to—but honestly, we did enjoy drinking wine in the fine spring weather we were having.

Family owned restaurant with amazing food.

Very friendly staff, giving great recommendations and delicious food, we liked a lot the octopus salat as part of the starter and the fish we got recommended, my favorite was the Alfonsino. A lot of locals eat here, should we be again at holiday here we gladly come back. :D

Everything we had here was Amazing. We had the fried shrimp, Grilled Amberjack was the Best. This is a must try in Sao Miguel.

Best lapas of my time in São Miguel! Great food, nice space, superb homemade desserts.
