The best food on the island. My son and I came during our stay and the food and service are second to none. The restaurant is family owned and operated and a serves authentic, traditional azorean food. We came back several times during our stay and were never disappointed. Try the award winning beef stew, local fish, octopus and wonderful desserts. What a treasure and at a good price.

The owner was incredibly nice and took the time to talk with us for a few moments about his country. The food was phenomenal, I’d recommend the Alcatra de Carne

Great dining experience from start to finish. We were very thankful we found this place after searching the town's offerings. Tasty authentic dishes served by professional, friendly staff. You won't regret going.

We arrived for lunch shortly before closing and they were very accommodating. Food was very good. We had a couple different seafood dishes and both were well prepared. Good stuff and a great host

Me and my boyfriend really liked this restaurant. The owner is very nice and speaks good english and he explains everything about food and wines. The food is really really good!!!! We went there twice and on friday we had the possibility to taste the typical alcantra that must be cooked at least 6 hours...DELICIOUS!!! And do not forget to taste the pineapple cake which is super or the cooked apple with porto. Very very recommended!!!!!!!!TOP!

What a treat! The food here feels like home cooking and the owner takes joy in sharing the stories behind the recipes. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Get the beef stew special, it is AMAZING!!

Excellent food, I ordered the fried makerels and when the waiter saw me struggling with the grates, he showed me how to eat it. (With my hands ^^) Super friendly staff and very nice atmosphere. 👍 The food also came very quickly. Overall great experience.

Great no frills restaurant for local food. The fried shrimp in garlic sauce was delicious and service super friendly (we were in a rush to get to the airport and they were super accommodative). Only small suggestion, the grilled octopus had a little too much olive oil.

The seafood was excellent. So good I had dinner there three nights. Rui spoke great English and explained the meal to me. Also picked out an excellent wine. Parking was easy. Looking forward to go back to the Azores and enjoy more great dishes. O Alambique is a must!

We had dinner last night and enjoyed both our fish plates! Tasted so fresh!....and prices can't be beat! :)
And the added flavour was our server - Carla - she was a pleasure and extremely helpful! We'll be back!

Very nice traditional restaurant with very good service and a great kitchen. We had traditional style cod and grilled octopus, very fresh and delicious. Both meals included potatoes and vegetables. As starter there where immidiately some fresh bread and two dips on the table. An the price was more than acceptable for this great meal. Thank you.

In the Azores you do not find only cozido, what we recommend you is this lovely and yammy traditional alcatra. The alambique serves this dish with soft and sweet massa sovada bread.Good and nice people will serve you and welcome to their restaurant. We recommend.

My wife and I loved this wonderful restaurant. Was a lovely meal of very fresh fish. Incredible friendly service and an atmosphere that cannot be beat for authenticity. This restaurant is worth the detour off the tourist trail of boring restaurant in Ponta Delgada. If you want a true Azores food experience, make your way out to Lagoa to this fine restaurant. THANK YOU O ALAMBIQUE!!!!!

We had a lovely lunch here during our tour around Sao Miguel, it tasted amazing. The served cheese was also great of taste. The portions are enough even when you are really hungry. Staff was friendly and interested in their customers and their wishes. Would recommend eating here if you are in town!
