ANC Azores Holidays

We took 2 full day tours. One to Furnas and one to the east side of the island. We had Rueben as our guide to Furnas. He was friendly, knowledgeable and made our trip feel relaxing as we visited the tea plantation, Furnas, the pineapple plantation and many scenic viewpoints. He even found four leaf clovers for us!
Our guide to the east side of the island was Vasco. He was also knowledgeable and navigated the island with ease as we visited gardens, waterfalls and coastal viewpoints.
The company is good about adapting to the weather and making sure you still see things. Unfortunately, the fog/rain prevented us from seeing some of the views from higher points on the island but you can't control the weather.
The tours are easy to book, affordable and a great way to see the island.
We wanted to take the third full day tour available to the west side of the island, however it is recommended the weather is good for that tour as it's a lot of the views of the craters which you would be unable to see with bad weather.

Everything was perfect. The staff is very nice and helpful and the process of getting and returning the rental car was easy. ANC also has a shuttle service that takes you to the airport and to the center of Ponta Delgada. If you are on Sao Miguel, I highly recommend renting your car from ANC.

ATV tour was excellent! We ended up taking the buggy instead of the ATV as we were not experienced enough for ATV driving - definitely recommend the buggy instead of the ATV for those with mobility issues or who have not done this a lot. Ruben was our guide and he was excellent - very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. We felt right at home! Prepare for rain though - rain coats were a necessity.

We also rented our car from them as well, and they were so good - we got the automatic car we requested and they had very reasonable rates. It’s always tricky renting cars overseas so we were a bit nervous, but they gave us a great car and were very attentive to the condition of the car when we rented so we did not worry about previous renters.

A wonderful service! Check-in and out were fast and without any fuss, the people who run it speak excellent English and are very friendly and efficient. There are no hitches in the contract either. The car was new and we got an upgrade without any extra charge. I definitely recommend ANC Car rental services - the best we have got so far after years of renting.
The Sao Migel experience is very precious for us and it was made possible by the ANC.

I read reviews of many of the local car rental companies and most of them looked like straight from a horror movie (scams, etc.). They may or may not be true, but it sure made me worry about which company to choose.

At first I was suspicious about how ANC seemed to be the only company that didn't have many bad reviews, until I actually rented a car with them.

Quality/price was insane (and they even gave us a car way above of what we expected), the renting went super smooth (great attention from everyone in the staff, no communication problems with language) and the car return went equally well. They checked the car in a couple of minutes, found no issues with it and dropped us back to the center.

The car was in excellent conditions and had no problems with it neither.

Renting with honest, trustworthy companies like this make your holidays a lot smoother by not having to worry about getting scammed, tourist trapped or whatever.

Overall, great experience and would 100% repeat and recommend. Also props to the great staff, awesome attention every single time.

In a trip full of highlights, this was truly the top of the heap! I’ve been to Sete Cidades four times in my life and on a foggy, rainy day when we couldn’t even see the lakes from your typical viewpoints (!) this was my favorite trip.

Pedro (our guide) was incredibly friendly and so, so knowledgeable. He had a plan A, plan B, and plan C when the weather ruined his initials plans and we all ended the tour happy and inspired by our surroundings.

Some tips:

- We took the buggy, not the four-wheeler, and it was a total blast to drive and comfortable for up to 3 passengers - a great way to take kids along for the ride
- I’d recommend the half day - it was more than enough time and it was perfect to start our day at 8:30 am and be free for lunch by 12:30 and to carry on with our day.
- They instruct you to bring a rain jacket in the email confirmations - listen! Even if it's a sunny day, bring a light rain jacket for sure, we definitely got wet

Went on the full day buggy tour of Cete Citades. Beautiful island with a fantastic guide (Ruben). The buggy’s were east to drive and a ton of fun. Plenty of opportunities to take pictures, stop, and learn about the history (and a quick spot to swim too!). Lunch was included and buffet style - okay at best.

Overall, highly recommend. Bring glasses/goggles and a bandana for dirt road driving. You’ll get dusty!

Good guides and good variety of tours. We did a boat fun tour, rented a motorbike and rented a bicycle during our one week stay here. All was great and had some good days here.

I can recommend their company, the car was new and in a good state, we traveled around the island with it, no hidden fees , we returned the car on the location and their driver took us to place where we wanted.

We did the 1/2 day Sete Cidades off-road quad ATV tour. This is a beautiful island, the ATV was a great way to explore it, and ANC offered a great tour. They were very communicative and responsive to emails prior to the tour. Their meeting point was an easy walk from the cruise port. Tour guides were informative and funny, and all equipment was in good shape. It was a very enjoyable day.

There are desks in airport and Ponta Delgada. After the signing a contract they have a shuttle to a suburban area where you will obtain your car. The same way will be at the end, suttle will bring you to Ponta Delgada or Airport.
We had a little car accident, people at ANC charged directly from me a 1k euro, but the money was refunded by insurance company in two weeks.
People at ANC were very pleasant and supportive. Definitely better than I expected after reading the reviews here.

We had Reuben as our guide for a half day atv ride and it was awesome. He was a amazing guide and we had a great time. And the your was awesome and had great view. Reuben was really knowledgeable about the history of the island. Would definitely recommend Reuben to anyone who wants to do a tour with anc.

Good service, staff is thorough and helpful.

Note: no matter what you choose as a pick-up/drop-off location, you'll be transferred to their base location which is 7mins from Ponta Delgada and indicated as ANC Energia gas station on Google Maps.

I can only appreciate these guys' service, outstanding! Rented a car for a week and received splendid attention, can only recommend the service from this company! Excellent service and well maintained equipment. The staff are very helpful, friendly and communicate well with non-Portuguese visitors . . . a big plus for visitors from Canada. We arranged the rental online through Discover cars.
ANC is definitely a powerful incentive for us to come back to Ponta Delgada again soon! 6 stars of 5!

We ordered a car over the website Carjet & everything worked out really well with the handing over of the car. The guy who gave us the key was really nice and recommended a lot of good sightseeing possibilities.
They were really transparent how the processes of returning the car will look like & what the will check.
Would always rent a car by them again.

Raphael went above and beyond to help us get our car after a couple of booking mistakes on our end and was an absolute angel. Super helpful and nice team, highly recommend.

Keep in mind if you do select an airport pickup there aren’t cars at the actual airport and someone will pick you up to take you to the car so make sure you put your flight number so that they can pick you up at the correct timing.

Cery nice customer service! No problems with booking or returning the car, vehicle was clean and in good shape, prices are also ok.

Rented a car for a day. We paid 65€ in prime-season and thats fine, and the premium insurance of 25€ is OK as well. We were transported to the car-pickup for free, and also driven back home for free.
Rented the car from 0830, but we first had it around 0945, because of papersigning and etc, but staff was polite and also fixed an issue with our car with a new one without hassle. Overall great experience and will use them again.

We rented a car for 4 days. The price was very fair, given it was during busy season (end of July) and compared to other car rental companies. The car was very modern. You get a free shuttle to/from the car park station (it‘s a bit outside of Ponta Delgada). Overall very recommendable!
