Go here! You might be confused if you're at the right place because the front blends in/looks like a straight up factory but see the side of the building for the company signage (pictured with this comment). This is a local small business with a ~10 man operation. Sergio was kind enough to pause his work and give us a free tour and tasting which was about a half hour. There were many things to try during the tasting and even as someone who isn't much of an alcohol drinker, their dessert wine was smooth and sweet and won me over. You can tell the people working here really care about the quality of their products and being sustainable and the wines blew me away. We had to buy a few bottles!

Small winery but fantastic tour and explanation of how wine/liqueurs are made. Sergio was very knowledgeable and happy to stop what he was doing to give the two of us a tour! And a sampling. No cost! Worth it 👌

We really enjoyed our stop into this distillery! Thanks to the google review who said to just walk into the warehouse and say hi— that’s exactly what we did and we had a fabulous time. Our guide clearly cared about wine/liquor making and was very interesting to listen to. The tasting was amazing. I would have taken every different one home if I had the bag space!!

Nuno and his father are running a wonderful business here making wines and liqueurs. Highly recommend visiting, we were able to try so many of his products and learn a lot about alcohol production in the Azores. Definitely try the passion fruit liqueur, it is gorgeous! Muito obrigada!!

Amazing place to visit! From the first glace it looks more like a warehouse, but when you enter and meet the host, it’s definitely a gem 💎 Spent wonderful time here speaking about wine and liqueurs… amazing tastings and talks about wine! Bravo! 🍷🍷🍷

I had the pleasure to visit this winery in the beautiful island of São Miguel. Antonio, who has been such an amazing guide, showed me around the facility and explained me how the wine and the different liquors are made. It’s wonderful to see how everything, from the alcohol to the fruits used to produce the liquors, is from the islands.
For the visitors: the company doesn’t have a shop yet, so you’ll just see a warehouse from the outside. You just have to park the car (they have a little parking lot) and go inside asking for a tour ☺

Super friendly owner. We got an amazing private tour and were introduced not only into the wine production itself but also into the life on the island. The wines and liquors produced here taste delicious and in the end of the tour you’re able (but not forced at all) to buy the products for yourself and your loved ones at home

Visit this place! It is a must! Entrance like to simple warehouse, but people is very warm and kind. We really like this experience. We spent time with them like their family members. They are really great people and winery with the history!

This place was amazing. Very unassuming and was wondering if at the right spot. But we got the full private tour and had a tasting of everything they made. Had to buy a bunch to take home. Highly recommend this spot for others.

I had the pleasure of visiting Manuel Francisco Winery, and it was an exceptional experience. The son of the original founder guided us through a fascinating tour. His knowledge of the winemaking process and the structural changes he implemented to ensure the winery's survival were truly impressive. From once bottling 1 million liters, they now focus on around 30 thousand liters, with a shift towards fruit and spirit production. The winery has transformed, and it's not just a place for wine enthusiasts; it's a cozy and intriguing destination. Highly recommended—definitely worth a visit!

We had an amazing tour through the factory and got to taste different wines and liquors - our favourite was the 1983 dessert wine. The owner was so sweet, we loved the tour and tasting, and would definitely recommend!

Go for a informative tour and learn all about making wine, liqors and bananas. Afterwards you can taste nine different wines and liqors with all only Azorean ingredients. Thanks Antonio for the Tour!

We went to this place with the intention to buy some azorean wine.
When we arrived we were welcomed by the owners son who saw us trying to find the entrance. He showed us around, gave us a short history of wine and Sao Miguel in general and let us try his products until we had to stop since it was quite a drive home.
What a friendly guy. Nuño, thank you so much

The owner is a lovely guy who runs a winery with care and passion. He tells you an interesting, authentic story about his family, his work and his island. Spirits and wines he produces are original and tasty. Please do come visit this place, you won’t regret it :)

We have been 2 weeks to the Azores. This place is a must go!
Antonio was so friendly and gave us a tour and explained a lot about their wine and liquor making with a lot of history, information about the island and anecdotes.
After the tour we had a chance to try the home made wines and liquors.
Thank you again for this warm welcome, the time you spend with us, and the overall experience.
Hope to see you again.

Popped in for a tour based on google ratings & were not disappointed! Yes, it does look like a warehouse but really is a winery & also produces local liqueurs. Sergio gave us a detailed tour & then a fun tasting session explaining each sample with passion & patience.

We just had an excellent and very personal tour of the winery with Antonio. Our family was able to learn about the culture, time, and process needed to make the wines and the liquors at this very family-oriented winery.
There is zero pressure to buy, and the tasting is all free as is the tour. We love the product that we bought.

Was curious how a winery could have 5 stars across the board. It's because this was more than a winery, it was an incredible tour with an incredible host, Antonio. I would 100% recommend stopping here while you are touring the island. They do only have a few wines but the experience is absolutely worth it.

Went with a friend and we had a lovely tour of the facilities. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming, there's a real family atmosphere. We learned a lot about the wine making process and also about the history of the Azores and the agricultural products from the region. The tour and tasting are both free and they don't pressure you to buy, but we ended up with some yummy liquors from them!

We popped into this local winery/distillery based on reviews were treated to a fantastic tour and sampling. We arrived without a reservation and even though it was only two of us, they invited us to tour the facility and shared so much information about their alcohol-making processes and history of many agricultural products of the region. Their wines and liquors are very unique and well-worth tasting. We even bought some to take home. Highly recommend.
