Amazing seafood! Great hospitality, very nice waiters who always stopped by and asked if everything was alright. We got send away on a Saturday cause we didn’t have a reservation. But very polite!!! Made a reservation for Monday instead and we got a big table just for ourselves and even got recognised once we came back :) thank you!

We stopped in here on our last night on the island, and were so bummed out we did not get there earlier in our stay. We did not have reservations but they seated us at the big picnic table in the middle. We got the mixed meat platter which was huge and delicious. As we ate were looked over all the signatures on the wall from all over the world, and left ours at the end of the night. This is a really cool spot, with great food and service, and an interesting atmosphere. I highly recommend checking it out.

AMAZING! We stopped in for the first time today and we will definitely be back. My lunch companion had the fish of the day (tuna steak) and I had the grilled shrimp. Food was out of this world (so fresh!), service excellent, generous portions, atmosphere very comfortable & the price was right. A hidden gem not to be missed!

We arrived shortly after 12pm opening & there was plenty of seating but by the time we finished, the dining area was near full. Their Facebook page suggests calling ahead for a reservation -- likely solid advice for high demand dining times. Perhaps this gem isn't so 'hidden' after all! 😊

Such a great place to have dinner. Food was delicious, really good wine. The waiter was real friendly. Pretty busy place, we arrived at 6.30pm as soon as they open, and we were lucky to get a table. After a few minutes the place was pretty busy. It worth to go there, a few minutes far from the restaurant the views are increíble and unique.

This was one of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had, the service was very friendly; when we arrived the restaurant was full but the attendant told us he would let us know when a table became available, followed up by regular updates and attention.

The atmosphere was amazing with a mix of locals and tourists and such an amazing wall full of signatures from all over the world.

Last but certainly not least, the food was amazing! If I could give it 6 stars I would, the lapas (limpets) were the best I've ever had and the mixed fish platter for two was phenomenal.

I highly recommend it, and honestly you should come to the island just to experience this service and food:)

Atmospheric fish restaurants, very popular with locals and tourists alike. They also do takeaway and have a regular crowd hanging around for a beer and an occasional song. Curiously, soundtrack is blues or hard rock. Harpoons and various fishing and boating items hang from the walls as a reminder of the local heritage. The pescado of the day comes with fruit and is really quite good. Other fish options (soup, sardines) were also very nice. The wine and beers on the other hand are average.

The place is super cozy. The food is excellent. The folks working there are nice. Prices are good.
Just a tip, try to make a reservation so be sure they have a seat for you. They accepts walk ins if places available but it seems to be a popular place (among locals and tourists).

I would give this place a 10 if allowed. Food was delicious and full of flavor. The staff was friendly and service was top notch. The atmosphere was lively and fun. Autograph the wall before you leave. We will be back for sure !!!!!!!!!!

There is only one thing that doesn't work here... it's not possible write on the wall my compliments because the walls are already filled with others compliments. Nice and typical foods in a informal and typical restaurant with nice staff.

One of the best local restaurants in town, traditional family owned and operated, excellent food, easy to park your car, cozy place.

Came here after reading great reviews and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! Got the catch of the day, Swordfish - DELICIOUS. Tender, flavourful, star of the plate as it should be. Everything else on the plate was super tasty as well. Service was lovely and Chef came out to greet me to ensure everything was to my liking! Maybe the best part of all? My meal was 10euros! Left a generous tip to let them know I enjoyed! 10/10 recommend.

Update September 2022 - as always, best fish on the island! Brought a friend who doesn't love fish and she really liked it. Got the fish platter for two, easily feeds 3 ppl. Passionfruit cheesecake is to die for. Service as always amazing and the owner is seen greeting all his customers.

Lovely place, delicious food, and friendly service. We had the fish soup, mixed fish for two, and steak.

Great local atmosphere with friendly service and we'll priced food with ample portion size. Great choice for lunch! 😃

Portion are huge, and food very good.
It's a very typical local place.
Don't hesitate to stop there for lunch or dinner, you will get good fish and meat, and catch of the day or daily suggestion. Price are lower than average on the island.

What an amazing, truly authentic place :) Highly recommend the mixed fish platter! Be aware that this portion (labeled for two persons) is enough to satisfy at least four :D

Amazing seafood ! Marvelous grilled fish. Delicious wine... And on top of this, very friendly staff. Went there on a Tuesday evening and went back the next Wednesday. Highly recommended ! Thank you Leni !

A place where the locals eat. Lots of tourists as well. Very lively, food is delicious. Place is not pretentious at all. You will be seated on park benches and served some delicious authentic Portuguese food. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful little restaurant just next to a huge view out across the ocean. I had a simple but deliciously-hearty fish soup with crusty bread. It was just what I neded after a long day walking, hands wrapped around the warm terracotta dish. Nothing special; it just worked! At night, under the deeply-stained oak beams, I imagine there is quite the atmosphere of music and chatting on the long communal tables. The little bus which takes you back to Ponta Delgada and Ribiere Grande stops just outside--don't miss it though, it can just go zoomin' past!
