4 persons we tried to eat a whole big dish of fish and we couldn't. The portion it was quite huge. We had different types of fish caught in that day, all very tasty. I find this local very cheap for what's offering. The staff was all the time asking what can offer us. I definitely recommend this.

Very tasty food. The best fresh cheese I've eaten, well-prepared fish and side dishes. Tasty food for children. Satisfaction with the staff. The restaurant has a great and peaceful view of the harbor, ocean and island.

We had a grilled swordfish filet and a veal steak, both perfect. As a dessert- pineapple and a local cake - delicious 😋 The service was very friendly and fast, we didn’t wait long for the dishes to be served. The terrace overlooks the islet in one direction and the marina in the opposite direction.

Seeing the ratings of 3.9 average was almost keeping us away from this place. But we wanted to give it a chance. After reading the ratings it’s totally clear that some people just don’t know what they are looking for or are expecting too much from a local fish restaurant. This place is exactly (!) what you are looking for when you come to a fishing village close to the harbour. You have a great view over the port and the service is totally friendly and attentive. The food’s quality is great and the fish is fresh and grilled to perfect taste. If you are looking for a local place with great food and good value for money, this is definitely a place to stop over for lunch or dinner. Of course the place is a bit “old” but that adds a lot of character to the atmosphere and is just a plus for everyone who is looking to authenticity. Thanks for the nice service!

The food was amazing. Very fresh fish we had the grilled Laps (Limpas) as an appetizer and we shared a grilled parrotfish as the main course. You can choose your own fish! Highly recommend the freeway local pineapple to finish the meal.
The local beer Especial is very good.
We sat outside with a nice view.
An excellent place for lunch.

Me and my partner stopped at this lovely restaurant to get some fish and seafood after our whale watching excursion and I must say it’s been the best food I’ve had since being here.
I’ve had a lot of fish and seafood in my life but the food that I ate at estrela do mar has left me wanting more.
I definitely recommend getting the grilled lapas and the sword fish, it was amazing!

Went in for a small bite next to our bed and breakfast and me and my wife were surprised of great food (red snapper) and generous portions. Two days after we got dorado fish. Very reasonable prices and great food. And great location right on the harbor overlooking the ocean.

We had a very nicely cooked large dourade with sides of salad and potatoes plus a bottle of local wine and spent the equivalent of £18 which is nothing compared to seaside restaurants in mainland Europe! Waiter was very polite and service was fairly quick.
It's important to understand that this is a small local business on a remote island so don't expect Michelin starred food and service because it's unrealistic in a location like this.

This is a FISH AND SEAFOOD place, not for anything else. Great, fresh and perfectly cooked fish, wonderful squid and prawns, great location and view, modest prices.
If you asking for more, go to hell NOW!
Yes the service is not as fast as in SwissAir Business Class, but if you are rushing, take the jet. This place is to enjoy the balance of the sea food and sea view, period

Excellent fish! Super fresh! The local pineapple was great too. And don't forget to order the local draft beer. Most excellent place with views of the harbor.
