Gorgeous views, tasty food, local wines, what more?

We got a table outside that had shade and a fan spraying mist every now and then to cool down. We had amazing views of the river with a set menu so we didn't need to choose our food.

Food was excellent and the setting beautiful on the river. Service a bit slow but great if you want a leisurely lunch. We had the chef specials (octopus, veal carpaccio), Iberian pork, risotto, monkfish, braised beef cheeks and all were excellent as was the desserts and wine from the quinta itself.

Excellent restaurant with a remarkable view of the river. We didn't have reservations but they were able to accommodate us... we got a spot overlooking the river but it was too sunny so we moved one table inwards but still had a decent view. This is a place for your special occasions!

They start you off with special butters (truffle, salamon, etc), olives and bread. The truffle flavored butter tasted terrific and the bread was also well done. We kinda zoomed through and asked for more bread. Since we were to also taste the wines, I decided the take the wine flight - the wines themselves were pretty average especially considering the competition surrounding them. But their white wine which is apparently only offered at the restaurant was terrific - too bad we couldn't buy a bottle. Anyway, we ordered a cheese plate to soften all the wines - sipping wine, overlooking the river - could easily spend 2-3 hours doing that :)

For entrees, I got the black pork which came with an interesting herb, cream sauce - together with the pork it was terrific. The black pork is famous in these parts so they don't over flavor it and allow you to enjoy the meat. I really liked my food. We also ordered a fried cauliflower and salad - both extremely well made. For dessert - got the almond cake - wow!! It was divine - my wife and I were fighting to finish it off :)

Fantastic experience, would be an awesome lunch stop while you are doing winery visits. Make reservations or you may not get as lucky as we were.

I’ve eaten at many Michelin Guide and Multi-Star restaurants as a foodie around the world. This place is certainly a highlight of my trip and could easily be Michelin status. I had fine dining in Lisbon, Porto, Sintra and Cascais on this most recent trip and I can say this was by-far one of the best meals I have had in sometime. The value is incredible for the quality of food and wine pairing.

Nice stop for lunch in Douro Valley after the drive from Porto. The excellent menu afforded all with a wonderful meal before the return drive.

Delicious meal with outstanding view but you need to book to make sure you've got space. Inside there is aircon and outside some water vapour so you're not boiling too much. The chef offered us (and the other tables) some olives and three homemade butter with fresh bread.

I opted for the cheese board with local salad and my partner for the cod. We were not disappointed. The place is rather grand and there is parking upstairs.

Booked over the phone and called again as we were running late: arrived running and afraid the kitchen would close soon, and I'm still grateful for the lead waiter welcoming us saying "it's ok, you are here now, you can relax". Had one of the best dinners of my life: fine dining without being pretentious, with impressive dishes, traditional cuisine but elevated, caring English-speaking service helping us understanding the dishes and pairing the wines. As we were the last customers leaving, we had a nice chat with the lead waiter who explained a bit about the porto production in the area. Loved every minute. We might come back in the future to visit the Quinta...

Really lovely meal in a modern setting overlooking the Douro. Compared to yesterday's meal which cost the same, this was really enjoyable and on a different level. The only criticism was that the staff (and they weren't that busy) took ages to take our order but were otherwise very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Recommended.

The location , the food and the service just top notch ..the best so far during our visit to Porto & Douro valley …it’s an absolute must for people who enjoy good food ..👌

One of my best meals for the trip! And the drive was beautiful. Can't wait to come back.
The special stew was so delicious as well as the Cod!

Wonderful lunch. Starting with the breads and amazing infused butters, olive oil and olives, followed by pumpkin soup, quinoa salad and pork belly. For our mains we had roasted baby goat (incredible!!), salted cod and rice and seafood in a cast iron pot. Kids menu was fabulous for my son. Delicious wine. Wish we had room for dessert because they had some very interesting options. Setting is super modern and the view is beautiful. Our service was impeccable!!

We truly enjoyed our dinner at Cozinha da Clara. My partner started with one of the specials, fried little sardines and chose the sea bream as his main. I (vegetarian) went for the leek soup as a starter and the Portuguese polenta with tofu as my main. We were both very pleased with our choices. The olive bread was divine. I went with the grilled pineapple for dessert, paired with Rose Port, and he chose the espresso and chocolates along with a scoop of the house made rich chocolate gelato. We sat on the terrace overlooking the river. The misters helped keep us from melting in the heat and the view was spectacular, especially as the sun set and darkness set in.

Simply... Wow. Amazing food and wine, all prepared with extra care, we asked for stew cow meat and pork with chimichurri and potatoes. It's all balanced, with rich and delicate flavours, and the wine is amazing. A must go place.

Fantastic monk fish and Iberian pork while overlooking the fabulous Douro River! The staff was excellent, as was the ambiance.

The food is simply excellent, the view is spectacular and the service is also excellent. We ate steak risotto and fish and it was dreamy…

Always excellent service and perfectly prepared food. On our preferred list of places to eat in Douro. The homemade butters and ice cream are spectacular!

The flavours are unbelievable! The chef is extraordinary. The Cod was well soaked and kept its original flavours of a dry salted fish. Great and extremely well organized service. The maitre D was very nice at our arrival. The Reserve we chose was served adequately. The view outside is relaxing.

An exquisite restaurant, with the perfect food and a magnificent view over the Douro River. It’s my favorite. Everything we eat and drink here is sublime.
